How do I add console player?

I’m really confused on what I’m meant to be doing.

Couldn’t find the information on the FAQ on the bliz website

You add them the same way you’d add any other person. A battletag is required for consoles now so it’s basically the same as adding a PC player.

Ah okay, so I just need the Btag? will they see my friend request in their game? or do they have to access the bnet launcher to see it?

I actually don’t know how they see the request. I was the one sending the friend request and he replied pretty quickly but I didn’t think to ask if he saw it in-game or through his phone app.

okay! I added a bunch of people from the forums, but none accepted so maybe they secretly don’t like me (jk) or they didn’t see it yet lmao.

Yeah, we see the friend notification appear in game. And if we’re online, there’s also a specific sound that accompanies it.

does it go by the battletag linked to the forum name? or is there a different one?

Battletag. And I don’t think it notifies you when they accept the request, they’ll just appear in your friend’s list. I didn’t get notification of people accepting my requests, but then they appeared in my list.

You can add anyone by using their battle tag, however I think we will need to access battle.net via the app or some other means in order to accept the friend request.

Feel free to add me in order to test this theory. I used to be Gunky#1767, but now I am Darrington#11693

Ok I just logged into the game.

I saw “Social: 1 [new!]” before the game polled my online friends & loaded in to make the Social count higher.

Going into the social menu, I see “Friends 15” (referring to online in game), “Groups,” Invitations 1 [NEW!]” and “Recent Players”

When I RB over, I see your friend request.

I can press down to highlight the friend request and press A to bring up the “Accept (X) /Decline (Y) /Block (B)” menu op.

I have accepted your friend request.

LB-ing away from that deletes the “invitations” header and allows me to see you online in my FL

I will now attempt to invite you to a group.

Can’t invite. I just force joined your game.
