Hi! Im current facing a game crash/glitch issue that left me with a 10 minute leaver penalty and im worried that this will lead to a ban of my account if I attempt to play again and the glitch continues. Its a glitch where the screen bugs from the start of the game and I cant move or select anything, only type in chat or leave before it kicks me for afk.
Anyway- I havent had any suspensions or muted, any restrictions placed on my account before. With blizzard implimenting new report features and such âDefense Matrixâ, Im fearful of my account being banned or even a suspension would be detrimental to me. Iâve heard that the support team makes ban appeals difficult so I dont think I could handle an appeal process for something I couldnt control. I also think, if I were to recieve a ban or suspension, theyd use that previous ban against me if something were to happen in the future that also needed an appeal.
Sorry for rambling! Im really nervous and dont ive never been banned from anything before. Im a good noodle, I promise!
Tl;Dr: Will I be banned or suspended from overwatch after too many leaver penalties in one day? Will this effect my account status of cleanliness. Should I be worried?
P.S. Sorry. I hope I wasnt rude with my assumptions of the the support team. I just see people talk about their appeals and it worries me. I love this game and ive played for a long time and I love my skins! I dont want to lose that

the âtimeoutâ period will only increase if you are in comp, and COULD potentially lead to a season ban depending on the number of crashes/glitches that you have happen.
if it is a qp, same thing applies, but you can reduce it by just playing games and not leaving them (i think thats still how it works)
yes either way you face a risk, but good news is accounts are free.

Leaving games leads to a time penalty that stops you from queuing for matches. It does not actually get your account a suspension for bad behaviour or anything.
If you are crashing so often and donât want more stacking penalties, I would suggest playing vs ai, customs, or anything in arcade other than 6v6, as those wonât have any penalties.
Since you said 10m I am assuming that is from qp. The way penalties work is based on how many of your last 20 games you have left. Playing games without leaving will have them wear off.
1 leave is just a warning.
2-3 is a 2m penalty.
4-5 is a 10m penalty (where you seem to be at)
6-9 is a 2 hour penalty. So to reach 9 leaves, you would have sat through multiple 2 hour penalties.
10+ is 48 hour penalties each quit.

Im kinda surprised someone just doesnât flat out Sue Aaron Keller directly at this point. The gameâs rules expects us to not leave matches. Yet there are many bugs and issues with this game right now since this terrible patch release.

i have seen people get this as well, particularly during backfill and crossplay lobbies.
some kind of desync perhaps?
either way, itâs a known bug. just type so in chat. tell team youâre trying your best to win despite issues. you should be pardoned from any false reports. unranked is for diagnosing this kind of stuff since nothing is on the line like comp.
