Well the title says it all. She’s on the cover of B net, OWL, even the cover of forums, on Quick Play and Arcade icons. Why the symbol is not the OW icon or why not other heros?
Plus the pictures are the same, the cover for Bnet the forums picture and also when you open overwatch through its own launcher not the Bnet.

Well she’s the most recognizable since she is on the boxart of the game and such. And she’s, oh what’s the word…ambiguous?
Edit: Also, Genji is the madcot for Contenders if that means anything

I’d say tracer is almost the newest member of OW, why couldn’t it be Jack like he was the CEO and also one of the founders?!

He…He was one of the FOUNDERS. Tracer is more of an iconic character, she’s eye catching and what not. And Tracer is definitely NOT a new Overwatch recruit

I refer u to uprising. And also about coloring and stuff i guess D.Va has more graphics and not the black gray colors.
That was Tracer’s first official mission, and even then that was 8 YEARS AGO. She was a recruit long before that
Tracer was the first hero created for Overwatch and I remember hearing a comment that she embodies the spirit of the game, but I don’t have a source to quote. She’s lively and positive, making her a good example for players, and her kit is simple to understand but hard to master, making her a hero that’s good to start off with and gradually gets better as you do. Not to mention, at least at some point in the game’s lifespan, all balance revolved around her.

Um…yes there is, literally in Tracer’s own lore. She was a pilot for the Slipstream which was an experiment for Overwatch involving teleportation. And her story implies she’s known Winston for awhile because they’re good friends and he developed her Chronal Accelerator

If she was the first hero then i accept ur answer and there’s nothin to argue about! But that doesnt mean she should be on every single cover of the game!
She’s colorful, spunky, young, pretty, and filled to the brim with personality. She was practically designed to grab attention and catch your eye.
She makes a great “face” of Overwatch because just at a glance at the box art, you know it’s a shooter, but obviously not a generic gritty war shooter.

Exactly different people different ideas, i think changing the icon would do much better cause there are like around 30 heros in the game, why focus on one?

No. A picture of a cyborg ninja in no way says “shooter” the way Tracer pointing a gun at the viewer does.
If I knew nothing about Overwatch and saw Genji on the cover, I’d assume it was more akin to Ninja Gaiden/Tenchu/Shinobi then an FPS.
