How come Console doesn't get much respect?

I actually own the game on PC but I never play it as much because I don’t get the chance. And the only time I really bother getting on would be a Friday or weekend when I can stay on longer and after I got start music done for my violin practice

You can’t exactly use a Strawpoll as a gauge for 35M players. How many people of that number actually use the forums on a regular basis? Plus, remember that we on Console also have to link a battle.net account to our PSN/XBL account if we want to truly use the forums with the distinction that we play on a Console.

EDIT: As of this post, only about a quarter of 1% of people actually have an Overwatch account and have been on their account on the forums at some point for their said account.

Well we don’t have access to any kind of measurements either.

I have to make some kind of judgement based off resources available.

I made the straw poll a while ago in attempts that a lot of people would answer. So far, we have about .05% of the playerbase that has answered (over 150 responses). I’m not saying it’s huge, but I am saying it’s something.

I also put it on Reddit, where it wasn’t instantly hidden so a good bit of responses came from there.

It’s just a bit strange how there’s no access to numbers like this. But based of the limited data we seem to have, PC players make up well over half of the playerbase.

What is this nonsense? You admit that the games function mechanically differently, yet it’s “weird” to ask for individual balance changes? Especially considering the fact that they have in the past balanced characters differently, such as Torb and Ana.

It is weird to ask for global changes, without specifying “for console only”. Considering the example itself, Pharah is already niche and not that great on PC past Plat rating.

I believe PC and consoles should have different balance and ideally separate balance teams responsible for it.

Oh, I guess I’ve just mostly seen console players preface nerf suggestions regarding Pharah as being console-only.

I think PC players have this delusion that they’re better than console players when in truth aiming with a mouse is EASIER than using a controller. I let them think that way because I love playing this game on my XBOX ONE.

Buy a xim4 and you’ll be good.

Despite how it’s looked upon, it’s technically not cheating.

It’s not the controller and I guess it can kinda land in that third party software group?

I might be wrong here but I have a console account and a pc account. Both are gold… the level of communication and team building on pc is much better. On console I see 4 dps comps pretty much every other game where on pc you get a good comp most of the time. Other then that there isn’t anything wrong with console but I just hate using the controller, it’s way to hard to make quick turns while maintaining an accurate sensitivity

I can understand why you don’t like the controller but it’s just how PC players are rude to us console players. Now I’m not saying it’s everyone but there are people out there.

Yeah I know what you are saying for sure. I don’t mind console players just don’t like the play style. But I do have a slight bias cause that’s where I learned about the game

Way to ruin the experience for everyone else. Seriously, if you’re gonna invest into a XIM you might as well invest for a pc.

The XIM is $100. A good PC to run this right would cost around 1k. You do the math. Its not an “unfair” advantage if everyone can do it.

I don’t have that kind of money to throw out the window (I do but it’s a waste to spend it on that kinda stuff) How I see it you’re using third party software for the game on console and it wasn’t developed by Sony.

It’s is an unfair advantage to the players on the opposite team. While it’s true I have the money to go out and buy a good 1K PC I like to stay with console for the most part. (I got a PC so I can play games I can’t get on PS4)

What part did you miss when you bought a game for console that meant to be played with a controller only?

If it was meant to be played with a controller only, it wouldn’t have been mad for the pc. The way I see it, the mouse is more efficient and that’s what I want. And there is something from Sony, officially licensed, made by Hori that does the same thing. So, its not an outside 3rd party source.

Just to let you know on this: Sony does not give 2 cents about how a developer manages their game.

So Blizzard does not want Mouse and Keyboard being used in their game on Console? That’s fine, then they don’t allow it. So keep the argument that this is on Sony out of here. Want to use Mouse and Keyboard for Overwatch? Take it to PC, keep it away from Consoles.

I’ve already talked to Sony about this very thing. It’s the 2nd half of the conversation. Take note as well that I also referenced things such as the Hori Tac Pro and even Overwatch itself.

I don’t quite understand what you mean here? It sounds like Sony is saying its on the game developers to make it not usable even with 3rd party agents. So if that’s the case, its on Blizzard? And if they really don’t want us using the KBM combo, they would remove it, so since we can, we should? Because that’s what I am taking from that.
