How can this game survive?

Ironically, I think Valorant has introduced account level borders not too long ago (22/06/21). Whereas Blizzard was set on removing it. Personally, I like the direction Blizzard took.

Account level borders were nice to look at, but often times it gave the wrong impression to players thinking that higher account level borders = better player, especially in competitive mode. So I think it was for the better that this system was gone.

Regarding feeling of progression, there could be otherways to provide that feeling besides account level borders.

I’m not a fan of locking new heroes behind a battle pass either which takes a long time to unlock for free. I still don’t know what happens when you miss out of this current battlepass. Will you never be able to unlock kirko then?

End cards, I miss and I’ve heard that Blizzard are looking into bringing them back, right? But medals though, I don’t miss them at all and I prefer this new scoreboard.

Biggest gripe for me right now is the queue times worsening for the tank role. Back in OW1, both support and tank role had instant queue (less than 30 seconds) which was nice. But now, I have to wait at least 1 - 2 minutes for the tank role, 3 - 4 minutes for DPS, and 5 - 30 seconds for the support role.

So while the DPS queue time has improved compared to before, it’s still a bit too long for me to bother queueing for that role. Since I don’t like waiting 2 - 4 minutes everytime I want to play DPS in unranked/quickplay mode.

And now, it takes even longer for me to play the tank role compared to OW1. So the only role that remained instant is the support role…

Well, blizzard have a very simple could fix the overwatch 2. By giving the people in the season pass 500 coins. The other 500 can be earned in Weekly Missions. It’s a cool idea to encourage people to play, but also to encourage them to spend money.

Missions for heroes or to promote playing with a given class, such as support, so that you can get several items. Some graffiti, one skin. If people could get items for heroes by completing missions throughout the season, they’d love to come back and play. If we could get, say, 4 skins [1 for two weeks] by completing tasks, people would definitely like to get them.

Lowering prices in the store. I understand that the corporation wants to earn. It is understandable, it is natural… Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I think I am entitled to everything for free. I believe the price for the Season Pass is fair. but… I live in a country where I can buy a subscription to EA Play YEAR for 17 euro. I can buy an Amazon prime for YEAR for 11 euros, but I cannot afford one skin in overwatch 2 wtf? I don’t know, maybe because I live in a rather poor country, other corporations are able to adjust prices to my country and make money on it, and blizzard is, as they always say, “inclusive” ^^

Well the gameplay itself is much better than overwatch 1. I love Kiriko, he is a fun character. I love orise, which I literally hated in Overwatch 1. Except that even the best fun can get boring. Various events encouraged me to come back in Overwatch 1. But in overwatch 2? Halloween starts tomorrow and I don’t really care. It seems to me that really small changes can lead to the fact that it will not be the most criticized game of the year…

the premium pass is enough content for those who aren’t skin collectors.

if you’re wondering how this game can survive? Look at Fortnite and Valorant. 2 very mediocre games. yet they earn a lot. Fornite earned 6 billion last year.

Overwatch earned 645 million last year. this was during its decline.

there are 42 million players from OW1 and 21 million new accounts. even if only half of that population only bought the Premium Pass. That’s instant money.

do the math. you’ll see how small we all are. the best we can do to fight it is not touch the Cash Shop. which is hard for some cause i play this game for the gameplay not the cosmetics.

we fight back by demanding better Premium Content. we fight back by not touching the cash shop. by voicing our anger and speaking out

also eff Lootboxes they’re terrible

you mean die after 3 years because the dev team "killed’ the game by not releasing new things and expecting people to still be excited for the game while the company is deciding how to squeeze every cent out of your wallet for a “free” game

i never got bored of trying to climb in sr. my mechanics can always use improvement

Same way as HOTS survived.
Same way as WoW survived.
Same way as Blizzard as a company survived.

It won’t and blizzard doesn’t care, they’ll just shut down the servers and burn another franchise to the ground.
