Everyone is saying kill Winston in the back line like he jumped on a floor stuck Ana in reach of her team.
Widow is normally perched on high ground so if Winston is up there, good chance he’s out of reach of the enemy too.

He does counter Widow. But if the entire enemy team is protecting the Widowmaker who is carrying the team, Winston is not enough to stop her by himself
So the entire team is on the high ground too? So many times, widow is in the back, alone.
Maybe bc she can kill him faster than he can kill her, and it takes a lot more skill on the Winston’s part to land on some popular sniper perches?
Only if she’s in your leap range, maybe you require to use your jump and wait until the cooldown ends to jump again, also she can easily use her grapple and escape, even worse if you dive her and her team protects her…
Maybe… They could just kill him or CC him before he gets to her. Or she can just grapple away and deal with him from a different angle.
She stays near her team if she is smart. Plus it’s kinda hard to miss a giant gorilla going in your backlines.
Jump on her. Do some damage.
She grapples away.

Wait for cooldown and jump at her again since her hook is a longer cooldown
Winston low dmg makes easy to save his target, and unless the team has no awareness they will not ignore a giant gorilla going to their backline
But he’s on the high ground out of reach now. Most heroes can’t go get him.
He can even be pocketed by Ana at a distance.
Most heroes can, what are you talking about?
Where is this Winston jumping to, the back line floor or up high in the area Widow was?
I mean, if the Widow knows what she’s doing, she’s going to run to her teammates so they can help her. She’s not going to run off on her own and let the Winston just chase her down.
Most heroes have the ability to reach the same high ground as Widow. Even if they can’t, it’s really hard to miss such a huge target.
I hate the concept of a main tank having to abandon his job of main tanking in order to put himself in a disadvantageous position (behind the enemy team) for Widowmaker… and she can just grapple away because he 99% of the time has to exhaust leap to reach her.
I love how… no matter what hero is being talked about, no matter what situation, THIS… “If the entire team is there too” Somehow still quantifies as a “1v1” to some people.
Like “Yea i dove in, but i was fighting the Widow… her team made it unfair”
Or ya know… replace Widow there with literally any hero.

No bud, you dove onto a team.
Team fights are not 1v1’s.

I don’t understand why this is problematic for some people. If a team is protecting a carry in that fashion then dealing with them should be a team effort. No hero in this game should be “I picked this so I can kill you regardless of what your team does about it.”
Widow isn’t even like that though this forum would lead you to believe she is and that barriers don’t exist.

And most of those DPS aren’t going to chase after a Winston with his bubble ready. It’s not hard for him to get pocketed by Ana or Bridget health pack either from that distance.
Widow isn’t perched in some easy to shoot at place either. As long as Winston isn’t leaning over the ledge waving, he can just back away from the ledge and be safe.

As you said, a team fight should be a team effort.
While this is technically true, theres like a million possible things that could get in your way before the cooldown is back, or Widow could just hide before your cooldown is up and you wont know where to jump, or she could go so deep in the backline its suicide to follow her.
