Title. I’m trying to widen my dps pool and I’m trying to learn Ashe. Any tips?
The basic plan is to dynamite on cooldown and BoB as soon as possible because you can charge it fast.
Other than that, try to take high grounds before shooting and don’t duel Widow/Hanzo across the map, you will lose.
Also prefer scoped shots but don’t hesitate to spam unscoped at close range.
But most of all, the main difficulty of the hero is hitting reliably, for helping that just practice in Workshop modes.
Avoid sniper duels and dont bother shooting barriers or waste too much ammo on spamming tanks. She gets the most value from getting picks on squishies.
Use coach gun for easy high ground access and as a last ditch defensive option if someone tries to dive you. If you have both cooldowns available, throwing dynamite first and making it explode with your coach gun is a very effective combo to win duels against flankers.
And of course, you need to grind your aim. If you want to play effectively, you need to get headshots.
besides everything they’ve told you so far
Practice detonating the dynamite by yourself
You can try Scoped into unscoped shots at close range. It’s a pretty good finisher
She’s great when your tanks arent playing well either, If your team is stuck in a choke, Bob is AMAZING as a distraction by positioning yourself to have him run onto the point. Their tanks pretty much won’t have a choice but to pull back, as squishies can’t really take him on alone.
Just have to make sure you do it when you know Ana’s sleep dart is on cooldown.
Also if you’re going up against a mei or reaper, you pretty much always want your coach gun off cooldown when they’re within 15m of you, it’s the only thing that will save you if you’re not comfortable landing consecutive shots etc.
Use it to escape to highground, or to boop them away.
I dunno what to add here, everything’s been said so…
If you’re playing with an Orisa - dynamite her pulls = huge value and ult charge (if her pulls are good and she’s doing it for you)
When I play Ashe with a mate that plays Orisa or vice versa we charge Bob super fast, like the combo value of these 2 heroes is insane and underated
throw bob behind rein forcing him to shield bob, so ur team can kill him. he is basically stuck.
Scoped headshot into an unscoped bodyshots kills squishies extremely fast and with the buff she got last time I mean really fast.
Keep your Ammo above ~6 to 8 if you have time to reload. It takes forever so you don’t want to be out of ammo when the enemy decides to rush the objective.
If your rein has shatter use bob to lift the enemy rein up to make room for your shatter to land.
Your first unscoped shot is pretty accurate. You can see how ashe holds her weapon (her hand to be exact). The way she holds her hand tells you if you have waited long enough for an accurate shot or if you will have to deal with spread.
Although I’m no Ashe expert I do really love her. I think one of the things people always forget with ads characters is that you need to get used to scoping animations.
With widow it’s probably more mechanical (knowing when to unscope in a duel for added movement etc). And while that’s true for Ashe too, how she scopes in can throw people off mentally.
Ashes animation has her lean into her gun to scope. Which is brilliant from a design aspect since that’s actually how you aim down iron sights. But I spectated a lot of Ashe gameplay to safely say a good chunk of players will miss shots to the right when they fire after scoping. They get lost in the momentum of her animation.
My Dude/Dudette, I am so glad you asked. I’ve been playing Ashe since she launched. I have gotten down a training regimen that works well for me, and I think you could try as well.
First off, your sensitivity and scoped sens need to be figured out. Once you’re settled on your main sensitivity, adjust Ashe’s scoped sens to 51.47, see how well you can flick and track with it. If it’s too sensitivity or jumpy, try lowering it to 51.46, then 51.45 to see if it helps.
Now, into the training regimen. Download these workshop codes.
Target Flick: 57T2Q
Headshot the Bot: 98NEW
Aerials: 9DNQW
Long Range Fights: AZ2R9
Flanker Practice: JM5QH
PMA Jelly’s Aim Trainer: JD444
AI Deathmatch: 97S3N
All of these should help you improve with Ashe for practice. My advice is to do the Target Flick and Headshot the Bot a lot, figure out a good starting point, then set goals for yourself. Like on Target Flick, pay attention to how many shots are hits, misses, and the total number. Look for small 5% increases as goals, like if you hit 58 shots out out 85, try going for 60 out of 85, or 59 out of 87. These small goals are much easier to achieve if you attempt them daily, and overtime you’ll notice your aim improve.
Headshot the Bot is great for more realistic scenarios. Try to set your goal as reaching a certain Rank, like E, D, C, etc, and a target accuracy goal. You’ll notice how much easier you’re able to account for people’s strafing patterns over time.
My advice is to do Target Flick and Headshot the Bot daily, and use the others while in Que. Hope these help
I would say im a good Ashe player. Over 20 Hours rank 58% accuracy and K/D beetween 5-6. My Tip.
Its all about dynamite. Bad Ashe players dont use it often and often miss to explode it. You should throw dynamite the whole time, it should be on cooldown the most of the time. If you can hit someone with it throw it. Learn to hit it mid air. Its really not that hard if you practice a bit. I can easy throw it 80 meter over a Rein shield and hit it. Its just practice. My Tip is to shoot the dynamite with blindfire. And from time to time i shoot twice to make shure i hit it when its needable.
You could also use the shotgun to explode the dynamite. This is usefull if you need to do damage to someone and get out of close range at the same time.
Dont use Bob when Dynamite is on cooldown. Throw Dynamite then throw Bob. You can also throw Bob first and then Dynamite but the first one is more usefull in most situations.
Stupid tip but players forget. Dont throw Bob when Ana have sleep dart ready.
And Bob is very useless against Reinhards shield. Try to break it first or kill him.
Headshot dynamite is a secure kill on 200Hp heros. 170+30impact damage.
Blindfire is now mutch better and usefull. Before the first 2 shoot where accurate now the first 4 are. Also since you can fire faster between scope and blindefire it makes it more usable. You can kill a 200Hp hero with 5 body shoots and the first 4 are accurate means if you have good aim its sometime better to use blindfire in close quaters. Also a single headshot will do 80 damage. Try some different combos. One scoped headshot followd by a blindfire body shot e.t.c
Shotgun is good to push people in the air for easy hits.
Dont shoot more then 5 shots in a shield. Reload after 5 shoots.
Sounds simple but learn go for headshots. That 170 damage is huge.
Special tip. On Hanamura second point as attacker. Wait that all your teamates go on the right side on top and when they all fighting send bob in the point and wait under the brigde to shot people who came for bob. This is the most effective Bob in game in my expirience. Bob has a really high chance to take a third of the point alone. A lot of the time it also wins the match because the enemy team died. It becames even more effective if your team is able to kill a person and then you send Bob in.
Last tip you can carry a point with bob if you are patient. For example your on Kingsrow as defend first point and all your teammates died. Youre hiding on top and have bob ready. So you give the enemy team the first two of the capture point and then send Bob in, throw dynamite make a kill e.t.c. Sometime you can carry it alone because the enemie was to suprised by the attack because they felt save. It also gives your team more time to come back to the point. If you would send bob in when they pay attention and when the not felt save they kill him and you in seconds.
In the words of Dafran after someone donated $20 to ask him what he did to improve his hitscan game…
“Just aim.”
Alternate between scope and no scope. Head shot scope and no scope body shots is a good combo.
Dynamite above and to the side of shields, don’t move your cursor and shoot dynamite in flight when it reaches the enemy.
Learn to use shottie to create distance between you and flankers and of course to get to spots that give you an advantage. Added plus is in specific situations boop people off map but becareful cause it boops you back too so if your on edge, you might boop yourself off map.
Always be aware of natural cover and use it along with knowing her range cause her reload is painful.
When possible shoot your bob into enemies so long as you don’t risk over shooting. He does damage on impact of an enemy.
Useful thread, only tip I can offer beyond what has been said is that if you can’t hit her dynamite consistently then throw it beyond your attacker then shotgun them back in to it whilst shooting them in the head; I get a lot of kills this way.
Yeah, Ashe looks straight forward in her gameplay, but there is some cool stuff you can pull off.
But I’m also still learning as well. I’m trying to get back into the game and i want to main Ashe now, but my aim is terrible and inconsistent.
Always use dynamite off cooldown, hold high ground, dynamite above shields, and the number 1 tip…
Just aim 4head
Scoped HS oneshots Tracer. It’s actually very easy to land a HS on her while scoping as Ashe.
Teach me your ways. Everytime i encounter a good Tracer, i panic and cant get to hit my shots. If i hit her she just recalls and we’re back to square 1, with difference that I’m low on health and have no cooldowns available anymore.
Well Tracer, althought she has a lot of mobility, is VERY previsible. I don’t really know what to tell you, you just need to predict her movements and the headshots will be very simple. If I get to play Ashe maybe I’ll do a small compilation of me headshotting Tracers, it’s so satisfying ;p
Spam dynamite from a safe location over and over til the other team says how much they hate Ashes dynamite. Once the emotional victory is won, you’ll win the rest of the match out of pure tilt.
Jokes aside, all good info here.
