Sorry but this is not possible. The IP addresses of the servers are constantly changing in each of the different locations. also there is no publicly provided list of all of the different IP addresses. This is to protect the servers from being subjected to inappropriate behavior such as the practice you are describing. not to mention if you try to block any given IP you’ll just get a “failed to connect to server” error message which would result in a competitive penalty when you get paired for a match to that server.
If you’re looking for a dirt cheap VPN that works great, I recommend checking out killping.com. You can get two years of service for only 50 bucks.
Interesting. Two questions.
- Can you elaborate on inappropriate behaviour? In other words, if I were to somehow theoretically blacklist West Coast servers, would it constitute a ban?
- How do services such as Mudfish and Exitlag “force” a region, without actively connecting to a VPN?
Inappropriate behavior in this case would be attacking the servers with malicious software and networking commands. Not getting yourself banned by deserting teams. That will penalize your entire account, regardless of server.
Mudfish and Exitlag are both VPN services. You can make it look like you’re connecting from somewhere else, presumably close to your target server, which will connect you there in most cases. But this doesn’t always work. Also, if you have any connection issues while using the VPN, Blizzard will not provide official support because they don’t support vpns.
Got it. Thank you for the feedback.
