Could Genji not have just gotten organ transplants? Im pretty sure leg,arm,lung transplants already exist,if not some others.
Or maybe they knew that he could be normal human again, but needed a weapon instead.
Was the damage done mostly to his muscles? Could they not be replaced? I think thats the answer.

I still think, that even in future, human organs don´t grow on trees so…if you wanna save someone instantly without months of waiting, he needs prostetic organs and body parts.
that type of stuff already exists and they could get normal body parts again.
those cost money, and being an only skilled in combat extremely crippled human being, its hard to make money, and that’s exactly what he got all those things he needed he just needed to work for overwatch in exchange, and a deal like that would be the only way he could afford that stuff cause again he’s extremely disabled who else would hire him
why fix him with human stuff when you can make him into a cool cyborg ninja 
until you play him in game but i watch the dragons short every once in a while to get the feeling sometimes lol
The problem is donors, you can wait ages for a donor that never arrives.
Also Genji refers to how he still has a human heart, as the heart and lungs work so closely together I think he still has his lungs.

Yep, this often is also the case in other SF series, Star Wars, Cyberpunk, Warhammer 40k, Shadowrun etc, were you, in theory, could get transplants, but (cyber-) prostetics are the faster and (to some degree) cheeper solution …
A good prosthesis is preferable to a limb reattachment in most conditions. Limb transplants and reattachments have a ton of problems including atrophy, weakness and poor nerve function. Not even including the fact you need a clean cut with healthy nerve endings and vessels to even consider limb transplants
And lets not even get into the fact most organ transplants require harsh lifestyle adaptation and immuno supressants-

Organs can take a VERY long time to become available. People wait months to even years for a single organ. A lot of people actually die waiting for organs that they never received.
Assuming if Hanzo’s ultimate is what Genji got partially hit with my guess is parts of hislimbs and internal organs got incinerated.
So tons of nerve damage, burn repairing, painful scarring, and years of physical therapy to learn to move like a cybernetic ninja.

hes a world class, 1 of a kind murder machine. look at what he is capable of compared to the average human. even in the cinematics.

i dont see how they can remove mechanical parts to make way for the more organic parts. i think hes likely stuck the way he is for the rest of his life. he knew this and thats why he had such a struggle with his identity.
Why would they want to? He’s at peace with the way his body is, why would he do it regardless of if its possible
He had a struggle with his identity cause he was almost killed by his brother and had multiple parts of his body removed in that process replaced with mechanical limbs
he could never return to his previous life and had to be overwatchs weapon. then left overwatch to find inner peace. that also had quite the mental toll because his near death by hanzo was one occurance, his stint at overwatch until meeting zen was years. almost all of it was reluctant. there was a lot of trauma. im not even really debating your points. we agree really, just adding on details.
