maybe bc many players can’t rejoin matches. which is major deal breaker. which could explain higher queue times.
This guy gets it. Except you’re forgetting 1 thing. Developers at Blizzard are paid garbage. Like barely 200s. In California, that gets you absolute trash developers.
The community was saying this a year ago. I’m not sure what they thought was going to happen.
Did they think dropping one fun support hero was going to fix timers?
Especially after removing CC from the game making a lot of the DPS even stronger.
I’m having a blast as support, but I was a support main already.
Kiriko is a blast, but even being a more DPS focused hero, she’s still responsible for healing first DPSing second.
i make $1/yr and could literally cook most of them alive in terms of value-added/hour. there is no way 300 peeps making 100k+ each over 6 years ($180M in salary for production) have this to show for that. Don’t those guys have algs? I’m ready to get off this planet if california is part of it.
I mean, in QP the queues are great, and Comp doesn’t have Kiriko yet. That suggests Kiriko made a real difference. Although, I also suspect that Comp is just much less popular than QP, and more players has always led to faster queue times for everyone.
you must be playing comp as i never see that high of wait on qp
Even if that’s the case, that’s extremely short term. People will want to try Kiriko for the first couple of weeks and go back to whatever they play.
The vast vast majority of DPS players (even genji mains) will continue to play genji.
I think we’ll get a few more players, but we still need a couple more heroes to make any meaningful impact.
Don’t really need to “save” OW2.
It’s been out for less than 2 weeks, if anyone expected this to be some perfectly polished product with no issues and no room for improvement then they duped themselves. This is very clearly and has been advertised as a work in progress incomplete early access product. Things will get better as issues are fixed/improved and more is added to the game. This game still need the PvE that was promised for it to be considered what was advertised as Overwatch 2.
It took OW1 5-6 years to be considered “balanced” and it still had glaring issues. OW2 will be just fine given time.
They’re going to save OW2 the same way they saved OW1 - by coming up with new ways of making it worse. No, seriously. If an imaginary line has been going left for 6 years, would you bet on it turning right in the next year?
I think fun new heroes do create repeat support players in the long term. For every hero they release, there will be people who decide that’s their new main going forward. I’m not fully a support main but adding Kiriko to my lineup does make me think more highly of playing support now and then. My other two characters are Brigitte and Moira who were both DLC.
Basically that.
But start with giving everybody the regen passive, and then lower the survival/health on flankers/snipers.
It’s fine.
First season is always a little rough on balance.
Bet 90% of current complainers don’t even remember or never experienced Mercy’s mass rez
I think I’ll go along with the assumption that Kiriko “New Hero Hype” isn’t going to be permanent.
And that it’s going to be about 6 months until the next Support hero.
At best, she’ll just temporarily block the symptoms of an unresolved problem.
Is this the newest shill excuse? HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH, thank you, that was a good laugh.
I agree, but it’s one hero. I was hoping OW2 was going to launch with at least 2-3 new support heroes.
I am loving Kiriko. I play all support, but foresee playing a lot of her in comp.
How to fix it?
- Fix Mercy , so that she stops being the worst support in OW2
- Give support new stuff (Kiriko was only a temporary patch).
- Reduce the absurd damage that is in OW2
You do those three things and you will see how the bottleneck disappears and everything flows again.
probably release more kiriko-like supports (not only healers) in the game, a lot of support players are not queuing ranked because they want to play kiriko and she isn´t available in ranked
if mercy becomes stronger, she needs to become harder to play as well. With the new guardian angel/super jump changes mercy doesn´t require half a brain to be played. She is indeed weaker than other supports, but she is easier as well
Well we could solve 2 problems here by making the game… wait for it… 1-3-1! This means:
-
Shorter queue times for support as there’s only one support, just like they did for tanks
-
Take away any DPS self heal abilities (Soldier, Mei) and let them have a watered down version of the support passive - DPS can finally have their passive!
This allows the support to work with their tank and let the DPS do their DPS things!
(This is mostly tongue in cheek as there’s obviously many problems here but, hey I’m trying!)
Well of course not. I’m pretty sure the new hero hype for Ashe and Ball died out a long time ago too. New hero hype is always temporary. I’m with ya.
Sounds about right.
What’s the unresolved problem?
