I’m a fairly new player to OW2, have been playing like 3-4 months now and I’m now playing competitive. I have been stuck in Silver 4 for a while, even if I had 5 wins/2 losses or 5 wins/1 loss. Ok fine. Well I just now finished playing five games in a row, won all of them so zero losses and did I rank up to at LEAST silver 3 in the adjustment? No I did not :—) I stayed in silver 4. How does this make ANY sense and how is this supposed to be encouraging to a player if I can’t climb up in A SILVER TIER even though I got the best possible results? Please someone enlighten me because I’m loosing my mind, how is this possible
Wait till next season. Its pretty bad right now. Ive been playing OW for like 7 years. This is the worst its ever been. With the MMR reset coming people aren’t playing and a lot of the ones that are, are there to troll or derank or simply just dont care because of the reset. This season is pretty much useless.
You have A LOT of derankers doing lower rank tourism since theyll be able to rerank essentially right away.
I’m silver 4 atm too and some players play like Bronze and some like Plat. It doesn’t make any sense. I lost a Hybrid map yesterday where all ppl in my team had 30-45 elims, 3 of them over 40. It’s not the Silver I remember from the OW1 where ppl were running straight lines
You’re going to have to love the journey. Don’t focus and put pressure on yourself for your rank. The only prize is comp points, and rank doesn’t matter much for them.
Gotta win the mental. Play well and don’t tilt. Just do QP or something else if you’re frustrated or worse and come back later.
Been playing 7 years also, i gave up on comp way before this reset announcement, the game is very fun in other modes, I love MH and QP all roles. MH for getting used to every chracter and QP is less stressful.
Your MMR is quite ‘sticky’, If you played, let’s say, 50 games and the game decided you were silver 3, it would take more games to get it moving again (not more than 50 but increasingly more wins the longer you are stuck in a rank)
No one really knows how long it takes to make MMR move again - but it certainly does move, just focus on yourself, ability usage, and making small plays which make a big team fight advantage and you will climb on any rank, it takes time though
