How about we give Mei's cryo-freeze a health bar?

Right now Mei’s cryo-freeze lets her contest the point for ages, while there’s exactly nothing enemy team can do about it. And when she does come out of it, she’s got full health, ice wall off cooldown and probably ult, since self-heal charges ult. Why can’t it have a health bar, so enemy team can break it to get to the creamy filling? That way there’s some risk to using the ability instead of “jump on the point and ice block”.

Heroes like Roadhog or Bastion aren’t invulnerable when they self-heal, why is Mei? Give it something like 300 HP, that’s already basically two health bars. And before you say “then why not give Reaper’s wraith form HP?”, Reaper doesn’t heal during it.

Because mei’s not in a place where she needs nerfs

I think the point of the ability is the invulnerability. Not the self heal. Kind of like Reaper’s wraith.

4 seconds

it restores 150 health

Icewall CD is 10, only if she lived for 6 seconds after using that wall would it be

why not just open with that then

Mei stalling is not this OP thing

I like that CREAMY filling :smirk::smirk:

You would’ve know if you did proper research first

Mei’s cryofreeze is an invulnerability ability just like Reaper’s Wraith Form and Moira’s Fade.

Reaper reloads, Moira becomes invisible and Mei heals. It’s a trade-off.

With increased mobility! Can’t forget that. And invulnerable.

That’s another trade-off.

Reaper and Moira gains a movement boost. Mei becomes a solid object that can block LoS.

While I agree with the general notion that full invulnerability and no way to answer it is annoying and often unhealthy in games, Cryo-Freeze fits into Mei’s primary purpose: To make everything take longer than it should.

Sometimes you’re waiting to go through a blocked door, sometimes waiting for the possibility to capture the objective or kill her, and sometimes waiting for her to slowly freeze and kill you when you already know you can’t escape. Whatever the case, you’re always going to have to wait for her, and waiting around is naturally annoying in a fast-paced game.

She only heals 150 and that’s if she stays for the full duration of the ice block.

Your trying to compare abilities that are completely different. Bastions is a resource based heal that can be used while moving. Hog’s heal has a very short CD, can be used on the go and adds a 50% damage reduction.

Wraith form increases speed makes reaper unvulnerable and reloads his guns.

All different and all serve a different purposes. As far as a survivability CD goes Mei’s is kinda the weakest since her immobility puts her in danger the second she exists the block. Frankly good Mei’s use block to bait CD’s not to sit in one spot and slowly heal for 4 sec.

Pulse Bomb.

Junkrat mine.

Dynamite.

all these things make Mei regret her life choices.

Gotta love it when Lias puts on his sass hat

She just needs a little bit of downtime, she is under a lot of stress and has to do a lot of running around!

I just read the overwatch wikipedia to them

because you know no one that ever complains about heroes ever plays those heroes for whatever reason

Mei is designed to slow down and waste the enemies time. Iceblock works as intended and is fine.

Not to derail but Moira doesn’t go invisible, she straight up leaves.

She shrugs off everything, including buffs, Infra-Sight, Sonic Arrow and Oppurtunist.
While she’s using Fade, Moira only exists from Moira’s PoV.

Okay, continue.

Yes and same with Snowball. Makes no sense. We need some counter-play.

i think it’s to mirror the frost mage skill iceblock, that’s why it’s unbreakable i think, but i mean it would kind of make sense if it was like 400 health just like her icewall pillars each have 400 hp.

That or make it such that if your character cannot be hurt/killed/moved then they do not contest payload.

Stall tactics are crap to play against, not fun to employ, and boring to watch. At least to me

Remove them please

That is something that I feel needs to be implemented though. As much as I am able to time it, if they cheese it for all its worth, they can contest it single-handedly so their team can get back to the point. They did it with Sombra so that she couldn’t contest while invisible when invisibility was on a timer, so I’m not sure why Mei can contest while invulnerable.

Its pretty easy to time the ice block. And if you’re not able to time it, there are sound cues from it crack that you can look for to know when they’ll come out. I play Roadhog a lot and I have gotten pretty good with timing them to either hook her out of it before she can put up a wall, or just headshot her directly. Same with playing as Reaper or Rein.
