How about no role selection, but we get a scoreboard

Then we call out the bad player and actually get somewhere with a composition, rather than everyone arguing about the medal stats that no one else can see and creating a far worse toxic environment than a scoreboard could ever create.

Calling out the bad player is still being toxic

You can call out a bad player(s) respectfully. Not saying to tear them down when you see they’re not performing well.

You can do the same with medals, but it’s almost always met with excuses, especially when they can claim they have medals, regardless if they do have them or if they actually even mean anything in the grand scheme of a match.

player 1:“hey can you switch you seem to be getting countered” player 2:" WHAT ARE YOU TOXIC TELLING ME TO SWITCH"
have some bloody self realization and take a look at your numbers

“I have gold elims”

Means nothing if that gold is 5 elims.

"I have gold healing"
As a healer? Completely unexpected. Still meaningless if it’s just 2K.

Raw numbers are better than medals.
A scoreboard will be a nice addition, even a point-based one.

no but I’m agreeing with it I’m just making a example considering a thread a while back that got buried

Blizzard said they tried a scoreboard when overwatch was in development and it encouraged chasing the stats and other unwanted behaviour, so they scrapped it.

Exactly.

Turns out scoreboards really only show a broad picture and only really help dps players

Exactly.

Implement something similar to HotS. When players switch, if the stat no longer applies to the switched hero, you put an icon indicating who they got the stats with or something similar.

Anything but these pointless medals. The game needs stats.

With the insanely large jump in toxicity on this game in the last several months there is NO WAY they need to add a scoreboard.
People spying on peoples profiles to see if their rank is low enough to trash them is bad enough, a scoreboar donly belongs in FFA. There is no reason for one in QP or Arcade (outside of FFA DM) other than to stroke one’s ego and provide an easy avenue to trash someone and try and force the team to turn on them, tease them, and make them miserable until they switch.

You might have an argument for comp, but definitely not QP or Arcade. And I still think the only mode that should have it is FFA DM.

It can be made for everyone.
In TF2 for example, the Medic is always the top-scorer in points.

You can have stats compared for damage blocked, healing, etc. HotS has done it successfully. Their excuse for not having a scoreboard is toxicity, and wanting to give a “sense of accomplishment,” even with the lack of actual accomplishments.

This game wants to be a competitive esport. It’s time to provide standard features to better represent the game as a whole.

That’s true, but it doesn’t stop people chasing good looking stats

And medals encourage people to pass your teammates in stats. Even worse.
How many times you heard, “Im gold dmg, what are you doing dps?”

And that is a sad joke.

Also what do you put under “role” for off tanks. What do you record for Hog and DVa, or our newest Swede

I think it’s been discussed before that medals don’t really work either. I treat them as a baseline for performance (medal for that depends on the role) not an indicator of good performance.

Exactly. They are meaningles in most situations.
That’s why i want something that atleast has meaning.

Yeah im ok with that. At least we can have a mechanism that tells us we did good or bad. We can spot as a team what is working and what is not working.
