Since Hanzo is getting a major rework, I feel like McCree’s role is getting more and more replaced by the bow wearing ninja.
Highly skilled Hanzo players already do well in medium/close range and now with his new roll ability (not even mentioning his wall climb) he feels like a must pick over McCree.
Buff McCree!
Edit: so far for ideas:
- increase his health pool: all the other 200 hp squishies have high mobility or healing abilities. McCree doesn’t.
- buff his roll: decrease the CD on his roll
- rework his damage fall of

How would you buff said role? His combat role isn’t so much about movement as it is more about that instant reload. McCree has flashbang also let’s not forget. If you get caught up in a situation where flashbang cannot save you, then you probably deserved to die. He is one of the hardest heroes to play and with good reason. He is a High Risk High Reward hero.
TL;DR Combat role cannot save you from bad positioning nor should it

I really think a rework/buff of his mobility would even the scores. His damage is fine and his ult is a big risk taker.
So buffing his roll is the way to go in my opinion. Maybe reduce it’s cooldown or give him two rolls…?

His damage falloff as it stands is too extreme - his flashbang also needs a rework to make it more reliable.

Well, I believe the same goes for hanzo: he’s also all about positioning too. Why is he getting a roll? I mean, he can climb his way out right?
They can nerf Dva so Mccree doesn’t get run over, there’s a buff

The problem with Hanzo is that he doesn’t have that flashbang to get him out of a situation. His scatter arrow is broken and that has been agreed upon by most of the community. I’m not saying your wrong, but I do play a lot of McCree. He takes a lot of practice to do work with.
What ideas did you have for a combat role rework?
As a side note I agree with @Rasengan about a Dead Eye rework. That let is great for zoning and/or Electric Cowboy. Also, another form of instant reload.
Agree regarding damage falloff, not flashbang.
His damage falloff is laughable.

I mean, his damage back in the beta was insane. He had 0 damage fall off at all. Personally, aside from Dead Eye, McCree is in a great place Imo.

The damage falloff is ridiculous for McCree. As a McCree main it is total BS when a medium/long range character can be out-damaged by frickin’ Mei. Junkrat does more damage at any range, Torbjorn, etc. Go into the training range and play with the bot by the meter lines. You’ll see.
Don’t even get me started on the flashbang bugs.

Would you mind if I asked if you played on Console or PC? Not hating or anything, but McCree is significantly different on PC than Console. Again not hating, I love my PS4 almost as much as PC.

As for dead eye: he is a huge glowing cowboy and highly ranked widows/soldiers/hanzos shoot him down instantly.
I almost never use combat roll as a ‘get away’ skill. I primarely use it offensively, and maybe sometimes when I’m in a pinch.
With the health pool McCree has now, and no mobility skills, McCree a very situational pick atm. And with Hanzo getting buffed…the reason to pick him over Hanzo …I don’t see it no more.
Maybe: decrease the cooldown of roll depending on the number of bullets left in his mag or give him immunity when rolling.
There have been so many time I just get shot by D.va or any other char when rolling…seems just logic that McCree gets a brief invulnerability

This game is about counters, you can’t go around crying foul because other heroes get a buff/nerf. Your supposed to get countered, that’s the whole point of this game.

Console, but my accuracy rating on PS4 is equivalent of top tier accuracy on PC.
any changes to him are even more of a precarious ledge than hanzo. either he gets weaker or worse way more OP
Define top tier lol (GM?) I am Diamond and my accuracy on PC is in the ballpark of 45-50% most games
I think Mcree is in a good place, his flash bang can counter a lot of abilities and he does a lot of damage if you can hit a critical. One thing I do want changed is the fact that Gengi can deflect the flash bang.
Im not even a DPS main and i float around that as well.
