When using a hotkey for something like “hello” or “thanks” it does not register or pop up in game. There is nothing in chat and character says nothing. I cannot complete the daily challenge to emote thanks to a teammate.

I’ve had the same problem since the new season started.
Same. Playing on PC with “Thanks” bound to 3. Works if I don’t target anyone. Fails to do anything if I aim at teammate. Will tell me I’m spamming if I keep trying.
Same my friend and i have the problems we are on different systems (PC/Psn) it works when not looking at anyone but if you are looking at someone basically any of the voice lines/ commands that do the ___ to ___ prompt in the chat dont work
I have just noticed the same problem. I am still able to emote “hello” (as I ike to wave to any hogs who grab me T_T) but the Thanks hot key does not cause the animation, voice clip, nor create an entry in the chat log. After repeated attempts to activate it I am warned that I have been suppressed for overuse.
