Lucio is a character with a bloated AF kit, but nobody complains about him because he’s always been in the game and cuz he enables dive instead of countering it (unlike Brig).
Genji is another bloated kit seen as “OK”.
People target post-release characters because it is harder to analyse characters that have always been in the game with a critical mind.

Well tbf he cant speed and heal at the same time
bloated =/= Op

It is because lucio is a passive presence that does not hinder any dps in any way and offers a passive speed boost which they enjoy. Any interference to dps is seen as unhealthy, tedious, stale, or boring.

An obnoxious CC on a 4 sec cooldown doesn’t count as interference?

Nope because they put that as one of the skill intensive abilities so it is okay for them.

Wait, are you saying Lucio’s boop requires skill? lol

There’s a difference between bloated kits that all fit into one niche, and bloated kits that enable a character to do everything.

I am saying getting environmental kills with boop is seen as skillful and do not bother dps players that much to even be worth complaining about. I am saying there is a certain standerd for what an acceptable support should be and lucio fits that standard.
Right, he fits the standard because he’s the standard. He’s a launch hero and has been there since the beginning. That’s my point. No other reason why he’s the standard except he was released first.

Everyone seems to care only when the character is meta. There are a lot of sleeper characters in the game but they only get attention when overused.

If Lucio was bloated, he would almost always be in every meta.
Actually Brig enables dive more than counters it. Hence why tracer, ball, and echo were picked so much when she was meta

Lucio’s kit is fine because he doesn’t completely outshine any other support at their own job. He has no single-target healing, the worst AOE heals in the game, and has inconsistent damage. His ult has plenty of counterplay and his boop only gets “free” value when his opponents are completely brainless and don’t take him into consideration. If he wants to go for a risky boop he needs to expose himself and get within a dangerous distance that leaves him vulnerable to tons of counterplay.
Are you just posting this thread because a Lucio booped you off the map again and you’re tilted over it? Be honest here, because I almost never see people complaining about Lucio when he’s one of the most balanced heroes in the game.

But Lucio has been in more metas than any other hero, probably lol
If this isn’t sign of a bloated kit idk what it is

I do not think that is true since Mei has been in Overwatch since the beginning but people still complain about her even though for the first couple years no one had a problem with her.

I’ve said for awhile there are alot of characters that have overloaded kits that were around before brig or even moira.

He seems off and on to me. He was gone for dive in seasons 6 to 9, he was nowhere to be seen when launch brig came out and grav dragon was meta, he wasn’t picked in orisa hog meta, gone for half of double shield, and was not meta for the last 6 months until now
Wait? No, Lucio is like my 2nd most played hero, but I can’t lie and hide the fact that I think he is bloated
He is not very good at one single thing, but the sum of everything he can do makes a bloated kit. Wall ride is probably the best Support passive
It’s true.
Bloated kits have always been a thing. It shouldn’t be a justification for why a character should be nerfed.
Good example is original hanzo with scatter arrow.
He pretty much always has been in every meta that Mercy isnt a part of.

There’s been a lot of brig-zen, bap-zen, bap-brig, ana-zen, ana-brig metas
