Nerf Winstons survivability not his damage, just makes him more team reliant and thats not good
Sombra absolutely needed the nerf but 90-75 seems too harsh especially since she already has the HP nerf

Nah frankly Im fine with any damage nerfs leveled at the tank role. In Overwatch 2 as a DPS you will never be able to solo damage check a Tank unless youre Bastion, and in 5v5 thats for the best.

So Id rather them make it so tanks cant brainlessly walk me down for free with zero talent requirements. Winston killing slower means longer for my supports to help.

Though for me none of this matters because come the S13 tests Im one tricking 6v6 since theres no way to make tanks not the most mindless hick role in a solo tank environment.

I thought they said the 6v6 tests wouldn’t be happening for several seasons while they tried to re-optimize their engine for it?

Unless theres been an update I didnt see, pretty sure during their announcement for it back in S11 they said they were aiming for a first initial test in S13.

Could be making that up but I felt like that was the case.

And most of her prime targets got hp nerfs.

I would have nerfed Winston’s HP too, but nerfing his damage is fine. I mean, it all comes down to attrition with him anyway, and Blizzard is trying to keep tanks uptime high. So, you’ll still have Winston on you constantly, but he won’t be killing you just by walking at you.

Sombra has a functional +25 damage in the fact that most of her primary targets have -25 hp. Adding a virus buff to that was way too much in a lot of matchups. Besides, she’s keeping her movement speed buffs, which is much more pertinent to Sombra’s real balance issue (too much downtime.) Invisibility and high lethality is an absolutely terrible combination, but if Blizzard can manage to increase her uptime and make her a more consistent annoyance then there might be potential for her to be in a healthier spot.

is this a joke? if she catches a support alone, she wins 90% of the time even post nerf. before the nerf, it was basically a free kill and the only time it wasn’t was if you either popped immo, tp away or hit a fat sleep oh wait, you were hacked…

Kills are extremely powerful in overwatch. Going 4v5 pretty much means end of a team fight in favor of who has 5.

Virus did 90 + 35 for a 125 dmg. A low skill shot and low cooldown and large projectile did 50% of a heroes hp.

More if you hack > virus for 160 dmg total. Compare this to dynamite or sticky bombs. The dmg virus does is rather insane compared to sombra having to aim.

-15 dmg on dot means you either need to actually aim or make up for it with starting with hack first.

Winston nerf was such a nothingburger change

Still seeing him or Dva every game. They would be a lot more tolerable if they weren’t so survivable. If I dome him 3 or 4 times as Reaper it should actually do meaningful damage

Like on paper it’s a nerf but it won’t change the fact that he’s 5x harder to punish than he was pre armor changes. Should’ve been a nerf to his bubble or armor

You’re thinking of it incorrectly, “90% of the time when Sombra catches a support alone it’s a free kill” uhhhh yeah THATS THE POINT!! Heros are allowed to have their strengths the question is how effective is the hero in less than ideal circumstances and there I think she struggles a bit, idk why they gave her the damage buff and the new hero -25 HP, her spike in play is definitely linked to that. Don’t judge a heros balance on their IDEAL play alone that’s foolish

This is just my hunch. I have no direct evidence for this. But I suspect that another armor change or global tank change of some sort is likely for the mid-season patch.

Winston was an outlier, but they love to shake things up and all the top tanks right now are armor based. So I could see that getting targeted vs individual heroes.

Season 12 beginning – sombra has 20 elims and 10 deaths before switch/her team lost
After patch – sombra has 18 elims and 10 deaths before switch/her team lost

Tbh idek if the armor change was the problem the DPS passive going from 20 to 10 is the change we need to be looking at imo. The combination of both is whats absurd

If they put it back at 15% for tanks I think that would be a good change. I just don’t want them to undo all the tank buffs. Pick one, two tops to either undo or tone back. Individually they aren’t bad but stacked they are a bit much.

You think she struggles? My man, dive is hard meta on most maps. She can literally position for free while invis, use tp in out or both. She does decent enough damage to boot.
She only struggles if your team is running deathball and even then there is an argument to be made about hack and hsr ult.

Im sorry but this is just delusion.
Thr ideao way to play sombra is dive with hard comms in a premade. Im talking about solo queue ranked. Nothing is ideal here.

They said they were aiming for a different queue test in season 13, something that can be used in 5v5 or 6v6 when they get around to testing it. Basically something not 2-2-2/1-2-2 or Open queue.

You literally we’re complaining about Sombra killing isolated supports as proof that she’s too good what are you on about
