"Dear OW community, we’ve tried making 5v5 work across 9 seasons and ultimately it has led to a worse experience across the game. This tuesday we’ll be changing the format back to 6v6 along with reverting previous changes to the heroes across the seasons. We’ll be experimenting with tank compatability during this time and watching closely for, if needed, frequent balance changes.
The monitization model from the game has also created animosity across the community and we’ll be reverting it back to the Lootbox system, and opening up all shop skins that used overwatch currency to now be obtainable by lootboxes. All current Overwatch currency will be merged with legacy currency and for every 50 coins thats converted, you’ll receive a free lootbox.
We’re also bringing back looking for group and we’ve removed the autoban bot that operates based on reports. We now have a team of people that actually review reports and will give fair judgement on a case by case basis.
Finally, we’ll be restarting the development of the PvE gamemode that was promised in 2019."
