Holy hell, tanks blocking dps sight

Can tanks stop running in front of the dps constantly? You don’t need to stand right in front of them for them to be covered by the shield as rein.

dude ive been sayin this forever man its actually a joke like i get the tank is the easy role ya know, it takes much less of an actual player to play it so you get just less observant players in general on tanks which is fine its cool but dude they almost end up being just a burden on the team dont even get me started on all the healers that just dont get ‘it’ like if anyone is a healer main chances are u dont get it and you probably never will its not a HUGE deal but it just stinks for us dps main because we end up having to do so much work for their win ya know

as a bastion main, do i even need to say it? (the rein shield)

It’s comically hilarious and annoying when I try to go Bastion and the rein stands geometrically dead-center 2 feet in front of me

Reminds me of when I play halo reach or 3 and every time I go for the scorpion someone just stands on the cannon, sometimes tactically crouching on it which obscures by vision; at the very least an annoyance

Either back up and get some distance, or your tanks are cowards and refuse to move up. Either way, don’t sit next to them and find another route.

It’s really hard, I know, there’s too many chokes in Overwatch maps, but be the force the change of change!

“Oh no, someone is shooting at me! Quick, climb into Rein’s armor for protection!”

This of course assumes that the DPS isn’t the sort to run merrily in front of everyone, get killed for their trouble, then complain that they need a shield.

I always try to make sure I stand off to the side for bastions….I’ve complained too much about it as a bastion myself

Robophila?

It might be nice to have a setting that made teammates translucent if they’re too close.

My favorite one is when I go Bastion, take a ground and the MT that decides to pocket me as Rein/Orisa stands in the way so now we’re playing “You’re it!” together because I’m trying to gtfo of their vicinity so I can actually shoot at the opponents while they’re chasing me so they can shield me while blocking my vision

I’ve mentioned it a few times before. Just like healers can see ally silhouettes through walls to gauge health, DPS should be able to see enemy silhouettes through allies. So when my view suddenly becomes Roadhog’s butt, I can still aim.

While annoying, you have to also consider that the tanks don’t do it (Usually.) out of malice but rather, to help you out.

Use your experience and guess if you have to, but keep pouring shots down to where you think the enemies are. It’s still good to keep them suppress.

wow thanks i honestly never thought about this.

I… I can’t believe I just read this. This is satire right? They don’t have eyes in the back of their head, you can learn to read your tank’s movements and position correctly in relation to them.

Honestly, Supports and Tanks as players tend to be the better players than the horde of DPS because in those roles positioning is paramount.

Remember; Tanks are the daddies organizing and protecting the family, Supports are the mommies maintaining the family, and the DPS are the little children getting into trouble constantly while having fun.

Tanks! Hold W and let me get sick frags! Walk into the meat grinder on my behalf!

Also: stupid tanks! Stop being in front of me! I’m trying to click on people!

You already get the advantage of being able to shoot through an ally without seeing where the enemy is. They should make it so your allies absorb their teammates projectiles/bullets so you can’t shoot/hook/whatever through them. But I guess that would lead to toxic play where your own team deliberately blocks you and that’s probably why they don’t do it. It seems odd to me you can move behind your tank for cover while still shooting through his body and doing damage.

Yeah that’s why it’s kinda hard to play around tanks. You cant see shid .

I believe the opposite. I don’t think there should be any downsides to bodyblocking for your team, especially in this day and age of weaker barriers. Taking hits for the squisher teammates is what passes for the tanks’ power fantasy.
