Hollywood Popcorn

Hello, I have an inquiry about attacker spawn of the map “Hollywood”. Located in the back of the spawn there is a popcorn machine like one you would find in any movie theatre. I was wondering if this popcorn machine produced popcorn that was fresh and delicious all day round using the futuristic technology in the Overwatch universe or if it had the same issue of real world theatres producing popcorn that is stale and gross after sitting around all day.

This issue is very pressing to me so I would greatly appreciate a response

Most movie theaters don’t pop their own corn anymore. It comes in huge bags. That is why it is always stale and gross these days.

Idk where you’re going but I worked at Regal theaters in concession couple of years ago and we pop our own popcorn with a giant machine in the back center of the wall behind counter, a new batch like every hour or two

We would even make a new batch if a customer requested it, or if they wanted salt-less for example

I can confirm what Cake said.

We have a Regal in my area and they make it very fresh and even upon request.

Been to Regal and AMC both around here and I’ve watched them open shipping boxes with bags of popcorn and dump them in the popcorn machine.

Asked and they told me it gets shipped in already popped.

A giant omnic war going on and Talon lurking in the corners and you’re worried if the popcorn on Hollywood is stale? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I sneak my own food into the movies anyway :smiling_imp:

If you launch a junkrat grenade into the machine it will make the corn pop. So the un-popped stuff is still fresh.
The popped stuff is a bit stale being the location is back lot a movie set. So the food is really just props.

Who knows how long it’s been sitting around.

That’s how popcorn got started, actually.

I don’t like popcorn. It’s rough, course, and the cernal shells go up my gums.

Well, although I’ll admit that to be cool, it is an interesting question u have brought up. But, from what I’m seeing, it just looks like ur traditional popcorn maker…

Weird. In central FL at least, they put the seeds in top bin then you add the salt powder, and it heats up then slowly pops and spills out into the giant bin

I liked it, we would always open up popcorn bags and let the “waterfall” of steaming hot fresh popcorn fill it up directly lol

Really weird, since already popped is way more expensive.

Maybe it’s just a Philly thing, movie theaters do dumb things with popcorn.

Speaking of dumb things at theaters.

On a road trip about 20-25 years ago. Getting late and somewhere in the middle of Ohio there is an open drive in theatre.

My GF says hey let’s stop and watch before we go to a hotel, they are playing Snow White and the 7 Dwarves. I’m like WTH, sure. Pull in, get our popcorn. Turns out it wasn’t the Disney version but a very adult version.

No warning on the sign, who thought playing that at a drive in was a good idea?

So did you guys just leave? Cause I’m like… I dunno if I wanna eat popcorn to that lol.

Lol…yes we did leave. But it was rather funny.

The popcorn produced by that machine is actually part of a movie set. It’s actually fake.

Created using styrofoam and lead paint the popcorn cost 50 thousand dollars to produce and was created by artist and activist Monet X Change.

And i thought Tf2 was going crazy from the lack of content.

They have been in the machine since 2016. Video game logic.

Snocaps/Nonpareils are the superior movie snack anyway

And Junior Mints.
