Hog is in a rough spot

I just had a game where I hooked mercy around 4 times and only managed to kill her once and that was because she was already low.

The Mercy player was also joking about it at the end of the match lol

On top of that, I had to use my ultimate to kill Zenyatta after I hooked him because my shot did low damage.

I feel like if I played any other tank, I would’ve had a much bigger impact.

I just fed a lot as Hog, didn’t really get many kills. I got a lot of hooks, but a lot of them didn’t matter. They just granted the healers ultimate charge. My hero doesn’t have any other utility either apart from the hook.

Roadhog is in a rough spot.

They’re reworking him. Hang in there.

He’s been the absolute best pick since OW2 release. He’s definitely too weak now, but c’mon, he made some heroes unplayable for 4 months straight while still beating any other tank until Orisa buffs came. He’s still a great counter pick vs doom or ball.

I agree he needs something else if they are gonna take away his 1-shot, but hog is still not the weakest tank by a long shot and is totally playable, whilst weaker than he probably should be.

I definitely threw a ‘hows that nerf feel now’ out at a hog who failed to kill me as mercy after 4-5 hooks the other day as well. Its been a hard 4 months getting insta killed by every hog every.

I’ve been playing a lot of Winston lately since he is my other main. Winston is defintely playable into Hog.

As Winston, I mainly just ignore the Hog and kill his backline, there’s not much he can do because he’s heavily reliant on cooldowns and is very slow.

If I do get hooked it’s not a big deal. He does less damage than before and I can easily jump right back to get heals. I tend to kill him last, he makes for a good ultimate battery for my team.

The only major issue is his ultimate, but that’s pretty much it.

Fun fact, if you’re near a wall, and you hook them against the wall, they’ll end up close enough to you to one-shot. You can also apparently jump forwards and hook at the same time and you’ll close the gap enough to one-shot before they can respond, but that one’s probably harder to time right (I haven’t tried).

The wall technique is very situational, not viable in most cases.

And the jump tech doesn’t really do much, I’ve tried it.

roadhog died because of not nerfing suzu properly, how are they going to put an ability that does more than the entire support roster together in a single hero and have it work in a group is literally stupid

They should give him lucios wall glide to compensate his severe damage nerf.

Was she at/near full health when you hooked her?

I always right clicked before hooking, I think the right click did around 10-20 damage

After I hooked her in I managed to get the perfectly lined up shot and a melee. She was still alive.

Then she immediately got healed and swiftly flew away to her teammates before there was any chance of any follow up.

I play in diamond/masters lobbies. People in these ranks immediately shut you down and don’t give you many opportunities for hooks. I hook when I can, its not worth giving up hook opportunities on squishies.

Did we forget season 1 Zarya already? And before his nerf I’d argue orisa was on par with him.

Honestly, he just got screwed over because of Kiriko.

If they would’ve gave him a sustainability nerf to compensate for the introduction of suzu cleanse, he would still be decent and playable, unlike now.

They didn’t have to nerf his combo. It was the wrong way to nerf him.

Eh, extremely debatable. Honestly quite a bit revisionist. He was considered the best from the start of season 2 (albeit, the sentiment started to grow toward the end of season 1) until the Orisa buff.

Who did he make unplayable? I am drawing a blank, but that could ironically be a memory issue.
