Hog, in my opinion, didn’t need a buff. Don’t get me wrong I love playing hog and played him in the og days but he really didn’t need a buff because the reason he wasn’t played at all was because of double shield. Now that double shield is gone that is already a buff to him. I feel like they should revert his changes because the current hog is actually better than old hog because he has an extra shot and he can move while he self heals. Hog will still be able to one-shot most of the squishy heroes and he will still be able to pop off in the right hands.

I think ow2 is gonna have hog as a dps… if not then obviously blizzard is high in the sky

I’m convinced that at this point that the devs wanted to nerf hog but knew there would be backlash. So they decided to over buff him so that everyone would demand him to get nerfed. Then in like a month the devs would nerf him to an even worse state then he was.
He needed the buff because he was an inconsistent ult battery.
Barriers didnt need to be nerfed if you were going to make Hog viable.
The bigger crime is nerfing Reaper.

When he was so bad OWL casters were making jokes at his expense whenever he was picked (not even Symmetra gets this treatment) and was the worst Tank by a landslide (even D.va’s better, despite whatever D.va mains like to constantly say)

I dont think Hog was bad because of double barrier
Like, Hog was terrible in death ball. He was terrible in dive. He was terrible in bunker…

That’s because we had Ana/Brig/Orisa/Sig meta.
That’s like the worst possible scenario for him
He was actually meta and only fell out once Sig released
For like a month
And only because other tanks were nerfed so there was pretty much no other useable option other than Roadhog to team with Orisa (which is why he was instantly replaced by Sigma since he synergized better with Orisa than him)
He’s been crap ever since the damage nerf back in 2017, and has stayed that way up until now.
Of course he didn’t need one. Especially since Orisa got nerfed. But its Bliz doing Bliz things to force new meta.
Blizz always does this. They will simultaneously nerf the meta AND buff stuff to attempt to counter it all in one go.
Hog would have been just fine with the sig/orisa changes but they just can’t freaking help themselves.

So ZARYA/SIGMA can be the only viable off-tank options
WINSTON, HOG, Hammond, Dva are troll picks on competitive. Now ZARYA & Sigma finally are having a third viable option that is HOG
REIN/HOG will be a thing now. The ZARYA/HOG thing will end on a few days
