After playing even more Brig I’ve realized you can still kinda frontline you just have to play it smarter. Against some heroes you shouldn’t do this like against Junk, Hanzo or Widow. But most of the time you can walk up(with your tanks ofc unless it’s a 1v1) and just smack them and bash away without being punished. Like against tanks non of them can punish you if you play smartly.

- Brig’s Synergy
S Tier - Wrecking Ball, Tracer, Ana and Zenyatta
A Tier - Winston, D.va, Sigma, Doomfist, Echo, Genji, Sombra, Pharah and Baptiste
B Tier - Rein, Zarya, Orisa, McCree, Reaper, Symmetra, Mei and Torb
C Tier - Roadhog, Ashe, Soldier, Widow, Hanzo, Mercy and Moira
D Tier - Junkrat, Bastion and Lucio
S Tier - Are Heroes Brig is very good at pocketing and peeling for along with also being able to enable Brig herself.
A Tier - Same thing as S but slightly less needed but still great
B Tier - Heroes who Brig who want to do the same thing as Brig and counter dive or are brawl heroes
C Tier - Heroes who are OK with Brig but they want to do different things and Mercy/Lucio would usually be more preferable
D Tier - Makes Brig’s life miserable

S Tier - Winston, Wrecking Ball, Doomfist and Genji
A Tier - D.va, Roadhog, Tracer, Sombra, Reaper and Lucio

D Tier - Echo, Junkrat, Pharah, Bastion and Widow
S Tier - Heroes that Brig can disrupte and deny them value
A Tier - Same thing but it doesn’t affect them as much
B Tier - Mutal/Skill and Matchups that is based on the circumstances. Heroes that Brig can usually avoid but can’t kill or a skill matchup.
C Tier - Heroes who can poke Brig out but she can still play around
D Tier - Heroes who makes Brig want to jump off a cliff because she has super limited counter play
Now let’s go over the very key matchups we saw.

Brig vs Winston
What you want to do in this matchup is watch every move Winston is gonna do. When you see Winston about to jump on you be ready to whipshot him to stop his dive all together. If he gets on top of you make sure to go outside of the bubble if your other support isn’t Mercy or Zen. Once you know he is about to jump away you want to bash him and then finish him off. If your other support is being pressured just give them 1 pack and if Winston is still on them after give them another and try to whipshot the Winston away to force him out or kill him. -
Brig vs Ball
In this matchup you basically want to do what you do against Winston and use whipshot on his engages. Once a ball is about to slam hold up you shield right behind his destination and instantly bash him and it will usually force him away or cause him to get CCed more and kill him. Also pack whoever he goes on
- Brig vs Genji/Tracer/Reaper/Sombra
In these matchups you almost never want to commit all your resources on them since they can get our easily
With Sombra and Tracer you only want to bash them if they are on you so you force a retreat instantly. Save Whipshot if they go back in so they way they can’t kill anyone. With Genji you just want to Bash him and hit him once to proc inspire and then hold shield until he dashes on you and hit him once again and then whipshot. If he deflects just bash and one swing and then you’ll have enough sustain to live whatever else he wants to do. Be careful for his burst combo to your head so shield dance accordingly. Reaper is the exact same as Sombra/Tracer but easier
- Brig vs Doomfist
You basically want to play this matchup like you do vs Ball. When Doom combos you make sure to hold up shield when you are getting uppecuted than bash him and whip him away. You have to commit more resources on him so that way he doesn’t burst you down. Make sure to also bash his punch since he’ll usually die right after.
- Brig vs Hog
You almost never want to commit on him unless you are with someone who also has CC and burst damage like McCree or your Hog. You never make the first move. Whipshot or bash him whenever he lands a hook on an ally. Also Bash his breather if he is in your team. If he is going to hook you resist to urge to Whipshot and just hold shield until you get enough distance away from his hook.
- Brig’s best compositions.
Brig is best with Dive comps and Double Shield comps. She is also a good counter pick hero.
- Brig’s current Playstyles.
Against dive comps you want to play with your backline and disrupte any of the enemy’s engages.
With Brawl comps you want to play with your tanks and bash any important cooldowns or anyone your team wants to run over.
With double shield comps you’ll usually see a Tracer or Echo. So you want to pack them and enable them as much as possible. You also can build Rally really fast in this comp since every is playing together and inspire gets max value. Any other comp falls in between all of these comps.
A common way to get inspire and live is just hit the enemy’s tank with whipshot or hit them and instantly bash away.
- How to play Brig in lower ranks
Basically all you want to do is hit the enemy’s tanks and bash away and it’s really that simple. Also Whipshot people away on key positions. Don’t play Brig on maps that have choke points like 2CP attack unless your team is on dive and all you have to do is give them packs. Just hold the right angles and tbh anything I said earlier applies to all ranks
