Hitscan vs projectile

Which takes more skill to master and should you stick with one or try to master both?

I find it very hard to switch between them personally as it completetly messes up my aim.

There are hitscans which require less skill as of:

Ashe
Bastion
Widow

and then there are hitscans which require more skill as of:

McCree
Sombra
Tracer

And the same with projectile heros.

Can’t tell what requires more skill as for example Doomfist needs more skill than Ashe.

Hitscan is wayyyy better, especially since they reverted Genjis buff.

Projectile is probably a bit harder but it’s basically down to preference. I use both equally but I’m way better with projectile for some reason (just clicks better with me)

Both widow and Ashe (Except dynamite) are harder than Mccree. I can comfortably say that as one, who have gotten all hitscan to gm-t500. Slower ROF flick shooting is always harder than faster ROF flick and then just a fully automatic weapon (like soldier).

Ofcourse they both should be masters considering the fact each hero in the game is better in different places.

But in term of what is harder…
It depends on your goal. head shot or body shot?
from easiest to hardest in my opinion at least:
body shot with hit scan->body shot with projectile-> head shot with projectile-> head shot with hit scan.

The reasoning for that is the size and speed of the shot.
hit scan shots are faster but smaller, meaning you can hit small targets easier, but hitting the head becomes a tricky part.
the shot is instant and require perfect aim.
projectile on the other hand is bigger but slower.
harder to hit because of the speed, but if you do hit- headshots land more easily because of the size and gravity.

So if to put it in another way:
body shot is easier than head shot.

if you aim for body shots:
projectile is harder than hit scan.

if you aim for head shots:
hit scan is harder than projectile.

The best tip I can give you for this is practicing each hero individually to have muscle memory based on hero and less about aim.

But I can relate, in a lot of time I play Hanzo and getting used to slow projectiles but then when I play Widow I miss a lot of shots because of this mind set.
Noting you can really do…
And you can’t really only learn one.
projectile heroes are usually better on close and medium range heroes
while hit scans got the upper hand on medium to long range.

I go from all skills possible which you have to pay attention to.

As McCree you need everything from everything positioning, aim, game sense etc, might seem that it is easier for you because you already got already 2 skills of that because being GM, but overall considering McCree is harder and way more risky and punishable than Widow.

As widow you literally just shoot from the back and if you get dived use your broken grapple to get into another angel spot just to continue what you were doing. The only literal skill you need as Widow is really aim.

And if you have aim then congrats pick up widow and if you continue getting game sense the more broken she will be.

Some people just naturally understand projectiles movement path better than hitscan.

So no answer in here is THE answer.

It all comes down to preference.

I think hitscan is harder because I’m better at projectile.
But that statement literally means nothing

I would argue hitscan. Projectiles will never hit 100% of the time no matter how good you are, but hitscan can

mccree???

the hero that play safe on the backline around the two main supports and also have a very good stun???

the hero that is good on almost all ranges ?

master both, i’d say hanzo is alot harder than hitscan his arrows are slow af now.

very good stun? they nerfed it, it’s unreliable now

If I’m not wrong projectiles tend to do more damage per shot that hitscan does.

But hitscan is more reliable.

so?

you still have two supports nears you and a very strong fire rate and dmg, fast reload and the stupid hammer xd

Hitscan. There’s pretty much no reason to learn projectile, they just get nerfed the instant they become good. Blizzard have a crazy hitscan bias, they’re allowed to be broken.

it depends on you really,

i find a lot easier to use proyectiles than hitscans

mainly because im really good at predicting and leading and stuff, but i cant track very well

Projectile is much harder except for tracer.
You should learn hitscan because every hitscan aside from 76 is broken and tracer who is much more difficult to get value from than ashe for example.

Projectile is a lot harder IMO but it’s not very good in OW compared to hitscan.

In what world does widow require less skill lol, I’ve always found mccree to be waaaay easier than her
