I have been experiencing a problem since last patch. My hitmarker sound will not register when I shoot somebody. The game will register that I hit the person, but it won’t give me a hitmarker sound. Sometimes, I don’t even see the hitmarker or the enemy’s health bar even after I hit them. I have seen some other conversations about this problem, but it seems there has been no reported solution to fix this bug. The limit server and other limit option in the settings are OFF.

i have this problem as well
I have the same problem, it appears that I dealt dmg to that person, sometimes even kill them, but there is no sound hitmarker or the visual hitmarkers showing.
For instance, I killed Moira with Doomfist, it is shown in kill feed that I killed her, but I didn’t get red skull in front of my screen showing that I made the kill.
Another example, I am shooting at Reinhardt, I hit him once with Ashe, I didn’t get any sound or visuals confirmation that I hit him, and his health bar didn’t show. i hit him again and then its showed everything, and I can see that I dealt him the dmg last both times.
I too struggle with this, it’s hard to make callouts if someone is low if i have no idea if I dinked/hit someone or not.
I occassionally don’t get a red skull upon a kill either, which can confuse me for 1-2 seconds where I could have made another decision.
I really hope they fix this it’s more obnoxious than playing against a brigitte.
Is there any fix to this? It’s really annoying to deal with.
I fixed it!!! It took me two weeks but I finally figured it out. It turns out I had really bad packet loss with my internet connected to the blizzard servers. I pressed ctrl+shift+n while I was in game and I had a constant 15% packet loss, which was causing the missing hit markers and elimination skulls. So what I did was download this program called Haste which is a gaming VPN, and tried out the free trial. It lowered my ping by like 5-10 ms and removed all my packet loss down to 0. Pretty sure it works only with ethernet, but I may be wrong. I’m so happy omg
