Common Thread Topic Titles

  • “Hard to Swallow Pill(s)” Threads - This post wants be blunt with a topic normally avoided

  • “Tea” Threads - Same as above

  • “Delete (Hero(es))” Threads - This post either wants the heroes in questions reworked, or nerfed so that they dont show up in their games anymore. Popularized by the polarizing Lady Godmace release.

  • “I dont understand” Threads - This post either wants to call out hypocrisy within a certain type of player main (but doesnt represent the entirety of them) or is calling out Blizzard.

  • “How do you X” Threads - This post is usually made by someone perplexed with something related to ranking up using certain heroes in Comp games. Share your wisdom!

  • “Hong Kong” related Threads - PROCEED WITH CAUTION

  • “Mercy/Brigitte/Sombra/D.va is _____” Threads - PROCEED WITH CAUTION

  • Threads containing “Overwatch 2” - Post is either in favor of or against the sequel. Normally devolves into virtual base wars by post #50.

  • “Player XxxNameHere420xxX is cheating!” - DO NOT ENTER

  • (Name) Cafe/Council - A safe place to meet other forum posters and join discord threads.

Common Posts

  • “(Hero) is overtuned” - “I think this hero is OP, but it is either an unpopular opinion or is not heavily disputed yet.”

  • “(Hero) needs a rework” - “The hero has an unsatisfying playstyle for either the controller or the enemy team.”

  • “(Hero) needs a power redistribution” - “The hero in question needs a buff, but no one will agree with me.”

  • HahaNo.gif - “Your idea/opinion/suggestion is either wrong, absurd, or heavily unpopular in my opinion.”

  • HahaNo.gif +10 upvotes - “Your idea/opinion/suggestion is either wrong, absurd, or heavily unpopular.”

  • HahaNo.gif +30 or more upvotes- “You have made a grave mistake posting that.”

  • “Blizzard is (negative connotation)” - “I dont like this game anymore and im mad about it.”

  • “Ive never had an issue with (Hero)” - Usual last ditch effort to defend/condemn a hero in a thread where their opinion os unpopular. Frequent replies are found here. Try to avoid engagement with either parties.

  • Any post that involves another poster’s profile or rank - Is trying to prove a point, but in a negative way. Try to avoid engagement.

  • Any post containing a signature - This user is trying to be friendly and trendy :slight_smile:

  • An editted post that said the original post was deleted due to replies - User either believes their thread went off topic, or their post was too unpopular to continue discussion.

  • “(post withdrawn by author, will be automatically deleted in 24 hours unless flagged)” - Post was too unpopular or too risquĂ© for the forums.

  • “(post withdrawn by Hong Kong, will be automatically deleted in 24 hours unless flagged)” - ITS A TRAP!

You forgot one of the biggest weekly topic archetypes:

“We need an aboriginal albino Black woman nonbinary toucansexual left-handed vegan republican scientologist hero, representation is important ok??!”

(not trying to offend anyone that belongs to those labels, im just using an example off the top of my head)

A hero is born in Canada, they have Canadian parents, they fight for OW and represent Canada, they wear the leaf on their uniform

This is the most baffling thing to me in this thread and this sentence ^ should be deleted.

Another common post
“I am right and you are (insert insult here) for disagreeing” - Don’t even bother trying to reason with them.

As well as

“According to the stats ________ is OP/UP/Majority” - Do not trust these stats as the numbers are probably gotten from a D10.

“This community can’t be satisfied” posts: Attempts by people to ignore/debunk legitimate criticism by grouping them together with the legitimately salty people

what I see more often is the results of invalidly conducted polls used as if they were absolute proof of majority/minority opinions
