i dont why, i dont know how, but it seems to me that most of the support role has some of the wonkiest hitbox sizes.
for example we have reaper, he has extremely short range high damage weapons, 1 strong self sustain mobility option and 1 really bad TP
Ginormous hitbox
then we have kiriko, one of the best poking tools in the game, high firerate high burst damage biggest precision projectile in the game weapons, two extremely strong self sustain abilities, one an AOE and another an instant cast time TP with a 6 second cooldown, dont forget, reapers tp is 10 seconds, an additional four seconds for a much worse cooldown…
anyways, smallest hitbox in the game that could rival tracer or dva
speaking of tracer, i know one of you buggers is definitely going to mention her.
Yes, she is the exception, but her small hitbox comes with a caveat unlike kiriko, which is a 50hp reduction and non bursty smg like weapons.
point of this post? i wanna highlight that support hitboxes do not match up with their kits, illari is not only a self sustaining support with her pylon, but also has mobility+ a knockback CD, and logically the design team decided to make her hitbox smaller than cassidy’s…
They dont want to make it blatant to make them a more of a laughingstock of a role than they already are so they do it subtlely as well with things like this.
Uh what? You think kunai are one of the best poke tools in game?! If you throw out shotguns, it’s one of the worst due to its terrible body damage and zero consistency at range.
Also TP isn’t self sustain, it’s mobility. Would you call Tracer’s Blink self sustain?
Wait, did you seriously say kunai were “high burst” and then say Tracer’s pistols were “non bursty?!” Jesus dude, at least mask your DPS biases a bit.
When you learn to read what people are actually saying through their over exaggeration youll realize he’s entirely correct.
Characters like Kiri and Illari were designed as DPS first, and Supports second. They are emblematic of Overwatch 2’s current issues with damage spiking, both able to 2 shot headshot unconditionally. Even the OG aggro support in Zen cant do this without you knowing whats coming.
Remove Illari’s alt fire healing and throw her in the DPS role like the dev’s designed her to be. Shes the first support in the game with an ult that legit doesnt augment/heal her own team in any way. Its a DPS’s ultimate. Even window gets used as a healing amplifier. Sym 1.0 felt more supportive than this creature.
Kiriko’s design is equivalent to an A10 Warthog. Shes literally just a gun, and the plane had to be built just to accommodate her. This character’s balance is ruined because of it. Shes only picked in high elo as an answer to BioNade, but is otherwise dog water. She will never find actual balance until her ability to dish out either 225 damage a second or 90 is addressed, because otherwise she would take over the game.
Shes SO emblematic of this games issue with peaks and troughs. But theyre both nothing more than bait to bring people who dont want to support to the support role. Even Bap is more well designed as an offensive DPS.
Between the insane reward given to them for acting like a DPS, being given all the benefits of being a support with none of the downsides of being a DPS, its just awful to play against. Kiriko has the singular best ADAD’ing in the game, one of the smallest hitboxes, one of the highest potential DPS’s, and unlike Zen (the only acceptable offensive support) she has 80 burst self healing, immorality, and an instant teleport.
Regardless of her state in the meta this character will NEVER feel good to fight. She either is wet tissue, or John Wick.
i think kiriko is the main hero who needs a hitbox size increase, while LW and zenyatta need to have their hitboxes reduced. everybody else is okay in the support role.
while your at it, increase sojourns hitbox too. shes still too small
kiri should 100% have reduced HP. There’s no reason for her not to have it, she has incredible survivability, that should come at a cost. She’s definitely blizzard’s favourite waifu or she would already have this adjustment
Tracer’s hitbox is actually fairly big. Iirc 116% of Ana’s and ~18% bigger than Mei’s. Tracer has no gap at all in between her legs. This makes her a lot bigger than she seems.
Tbh yes.
That’s not bias though. Kiriko is burst damage, Tracer is sustained. Tracer does deal really good damage, but it’s not a burst 113.5 to the head.
yes, just like you would say hanzo arrows are broken because they can randomly kill someone down a sightline because he spammed, you would also say that kiriko can poke very well because she can just spam down a sightline while healing, ive done it, every kiriko thats ever been above bronze has done it, you are just bad.
they are not meant for body shots and you know it, stop using that as a argument, its insufferable.
tp has cleanse, mobility, and an iframe, if that isnt self sustaining yourself from dying in a fight then i dont know what is.
can you hit a tracer while she’s blinking away from you? No? exactly
by definition, burst damage is when you register one input and thats the max damage output you can get through your weapons before your next round is available, sustain damage is something you can just hold down your m1 button and it will continue to shoot until you empty the mag.
so yes, tracer does not have burst weapons because they are quite literally smg’s
her playermodel moves quite erratically especially when her head is the size of a walnut
Nah, bap also needs a bigger hitbox, even though his hitbox is big enough for a support, he has three hp bars classifying him as a tank, so he needs to be the size of reinhardt
yeah this is what they need instead of tacking on an extra 25hp. lifeweaver should have his hitbox reduced by like 7-8%, and a 100/100 shield/white health split. for zen, same thing and also 200 hp
