Hindered Is So Unpleasant

I still don’t understand how things like Mei freeze, flashbang stun, and shield bash stun was so much worse than what’s been added in this last patch.

This new Mei slow affect is awful. But this hindered affect might be the worst thing ever added to the game that I’ve experienced. I’m not exaggerating.

It makes some heroes almost unplayable, and the decision to make it so heroes like Reaper, Moira, and my dear sweet Sombra can’t drop it is doubly brutal.

Sorry if this is a common topic. Been off the Forums awhile.

Mei doesn’t bother me that much.

Hindered is terrible. It’s all the worst mistakes of Overwatch 1 all over again.

My main Mei issue is them nerfing her damage unnecessarily. But I definitely think this slow effect is worse than freeze was.

But yeah hindered is the absolute worst.

I feel like Sombra has it easy. It just sucks so much for Reaper and Moira, and I’m not a fan of either but they didn’t need to be gimped like this.

It’s like, the hero it was intended for (Tracer) has it the easiest and can maneuver around it. All the other heroes - including tanks - get screwed harder.

Mei is just…comically annoying to play against now while simultaneously feeling worse to play.

The bar is in Hell, my friends.

So is playing against Ball and Sombra.

I get that the hindered effect sucks and it effects tanks more than the flankers, but some of these high mobility champions really needed more counterplay and it seems as though the devs don’t want to nerf mobility outright.

Maybe the nade needs rebalancing or needs to go on a character that’s not Cassidy. But i’m not against having these kinds of effects in game tbh.

While the effect is pretty bad, especially with all the effort they went to remove CC from the rest the game. To me the biggest issue is how easy the ability is. The grenade has really good homing and tracking. Unlimited range and good dmg. On top of which it’s CD isn’t that bad, 10 seconds and it starts to reset the second you throw it, not when it explodes.

It’s way too easy to land, does decent dmg and has a low CD. Honestly even if it didn’t have the hinder effect I would question it’s existence. 80 dmg for throwing an ability in the “general direction” of an enemy is pretty good.

This isn’t a good argument at all. This Cree change doesn’t make Sombra or Ball less annoying for the rest of the cast, it just makes Cree more annoying for everyone.

I don’t necessarily disagree. But this hurts characters with high mobility the least. This ability is gonna hurt Reaper way more than Tracer.

This is my complaint about abilities like this.

I feel like the devs ENVISION abilities like this being these super neat anti flanker / mobility tools- Allowing you to help combat heroes like tracer and genji

But in reality they just dumped into the biggest easiest targets more regularly, the tanks.

Im notincg the xp boosts for tank slot more and more lately- not hard to see why.

its truly amazing how they went from a stun (which was annoying because of the diameter of it) to an ability thats worse then that, then made it into an even worse ability. absolutely amazing these people are

These design decisions are just mind boggling.

It’s like, what conversation did the product team where it resulted in “Cass needs a CC but not a real CC, so we’ll give him a half CC and make it unavoidable”?

By the way, it seems to see everything with the hitbox of a refrigerator. You can miss badly and it will chase your target like a heat seeking missile.

Of course.
But that’s also the point. Sombra is very frustrating to play against because the moment she’s in danger, she has a free-out-of-jail card.

It feels necessary to me. Nothing is keeping flankers in check. We needed something more to counter them. Genji is still in every game.

It’s a necessary evil. And even that is not enough to put high-mobility heroes in check.

Guys, it’s a Cripple. Literally one of the weakest forms off CC any PVP character shooter/MOBA has to offer.

Stop crying over literally nothing. You can still move, shoot, block, crouch, use cooldowns, ultimates etc. All you can’t do is use movement abilities. Some heroes who remain completely unaffected by anyway, as they simply don’t have one.

McCree and Mei were fine in OW1. They didn’t need reworking. Some CC is needed when characters like Ball and Doom exist.

Mei bothers me a lot because they made the hero substantially worse in exchange for a slow that literally nobody wanted

I think that hindered/slow status shi- is funny as long as it’s not happening to me.

This is very ironic coming from a Sombra player where hack is just annoying as the new Cass nade
