Higher ping since the last update

Hello. I am having approximately 15-20 millisecond more ping since the last update. Does it have something to do with the PNG being replaced with Latency?? I always had 100 ping but now i always have 120.

The thing is when i ping the server IP in command prompt it gives me 100, but in the game it shows me 120. So i’m assuming it’s because of the game itself right??

Latency is not just what ping was, there are more to calculate and it is expected to sure a number 20ms higher

I just saw a pinned topic that explains it all. But can’t put the topic’s link here for some reason.

So basically i have the same ping time to the servers that i had before right? Only this time it also calculates other things? It’s kind of weird. I want it to revert to the way it was before.

Correct, the game should function as it did before, it’s just showing a different number for latency than it did for ping. Though some others, including myself, have been experiencing latency issues where they lag or even disconnect so if you’re experiencing that you’re not alone.

Yeah actually i’m having lag and sudden spikes as well. The game doesn’t feel like the same for me. Thank god i’m not alone. I hope they do something about it soon.

Currently the known situation is that Blizzard is having problems with South American ISPs and the US east coast ISP Armstrong. If you are in one of those groups then this is probably your issue. If not, there are other east coast ISPs that people have been saying that they have had problems with but they haven’t been confirmed by Blizzard yet.

I’m also experience these issues as well ever since the March 20 update. The controls, movement, and abilities are sluggish on response.
