Im haveing an input lag issue my sim values are normal for the first 2 they stay around 5. But the last value is always at least 2 more and fluctuates when shooting it jumps for 7 to 10 or 13 even 32 .I’m on an alienware 17r4 with a nvidia 1080 no issues with power can someone please help ! I can’t aim when it keeps changing
The SIM values are minimum | mean | maximum. Your sim value is tied to your framerate, nothing more. Stabilizing your framerate will stabilize your SIM, though you can also turn off the killfeed to keep SIM more stable.
However, this isn’t making your aim worse or better, it’s just an excuse.
Are you saying fps fluctuations aren’t detrimental to your aim? Also I’m pretty sure fps is tied to input lag in overwatch that’s what SIM values tell us.
It’s only showing the -display- input delay, which is tied to fps. There is far more that goes into overall input lag than display input lag. You can’t help your display input lag beyond stabilizing your fps.
The spikes in the SIM value are most likely the killfeed. Decide for yourself whether you need it or not.
Just saying that having fluctuating SIM is most likely not the problem and a bigger issue for aim is ping.
My frame rate is locked in currently at 155 and doesn’t fluctuate but the last of my sim value jus from 6.5 to 10,13 etc it’s all over the place sometimes the middle value changes as well. Locking it at 155 and outing reduces buffering on is closest in been to keeping values consistent but they still arnt
Any fix yet?..
the sim fluctuations are not tied to killfeed.
i walked around training ground not killing anything and my sim jumps everywhere from 4.6 to 16, without killfeed active.
the has been increasing fps and delay creeping into OW for over 12 months.
in teamfights , there are numerous delays and huge fps drops on even the best systems.
there is no fix, the game just seems to be deteriorating
it is somewhat tied to voicelines. but it’s way more than just voicelines.
I know this thread is old but I found it via Google searching for the problem and I want to post my solution.
In my case the problem was the FPS cap. I have a 60hz Monitor and set the cap to 60, however without cap I have considerably less input lag.
