Blasted through the rest of plat and gold easily. Been stuck in the 2900s/high 2800s the past 2 weeks. Climbing out of high gold wasnt this hard. What’s up with high plat tbh. My season high is literally 2990 its lowkey painful. How the hell do I get past this barrier?

what character? if you are playing more than one then you would have to be better than touching diamond on both. For me, I was 200 points better at dva back when I could barely touch diamond as zarya, so my account would hover around 2900 a bunch. then I just let my account fall, played with some friends, and worked on getting some of the skills I would need to play zarya at a higher skill bracket. But it tends to be character specific

I play zarya ball and hog mostly and rein if a sheild is absolutely needed. Zarya is who I climbed this far with so I mostly go with her but I’ve been having success when I’ve been forced onto rein lately. havent played hog in awhile as he feels harder to use in this bracket just like I didnt play rein in lower plat because it was difficult to do much without support.
I had the same experience and then after a flurry of losses disconnects and throws I ended up back around 2600 - 2700. I haven’t put as much time into it lately but I know I have gotten a lot better at characters I main andI have started picking up alternative picks so I don’t one trick…
But it constantly seems at that bracket people are wildly out of control compared to low and mid plat.
Everytime I drop I get right back up because sub 3.1k games feel easy to me. I mostly get put into 3.1k games+ for some reason. At 3.1k+ I feel average but below that I perform well. But I rarely get sub 3.1k games

I think that is because the experience is two-sided, and now the other team is experiencing what you just did.
Your only way out is to get better than you are right now. Best way to do that is focused practice - review vods frequently, identify issues, and put in a conscious effort to fix them one at a time until they become second nature.
Eventually, you’ll have fixed enough issues with your play that you can finally escape this rank. Then, you’ll run into another plateau where you’ll have to fix even more issues. Rinse and repeat until GM. Plat/diamond is one of the worst barriers in the game because everyone is terrified to lose their precious shiny rank, so everyone is angry and playing their little hearts out to stay above the 3k threshold, but it can be done. Once you get past this hurdle, diamond is easy.

Traits most people do not have, haha. You are correct though.
Play around your team, if everyone dies go Orisa and give them cover. If they can’t press W go Reinhardt or Sigma and do it for them. If you feel like nobody does their job go Wrecking Ball and do it yourself by disrupting your enemies. If you don’t get heals go Roadhog. If your Rein plays well but gets no support go Zarya and support him.

I’ve done bronze or silver to master more times than I can count and getting to high plat is stupid easy and then I get to this weird spot where my opponents get better (not better than me, just better than gold) AND my team doesn’t enable me the way I expect.
So getting to 2800 is easy, but getting to 3100 from there takes a bit longer, and then getting to 3400 is easy as my team enables me the way I expect, and then it becomes harder again as my opponents mechanics start to match my own.

what is your win rate? You need to have at least 60% to climb.
Plat goes from the top 30ish% to the top 11%, so you go from having a third of the players ahead of you to a 10th. Of course moving up from plat is hard. If you were making a baseball team out of 100 people, none of the plat players would be in it, no matter how good they were.
Actually 25% of players are 3000+. Plat is 50-75.
Play the meta, basically. Otherwise you need to solo carry against a mix of derank diamonds and boosted plats. It is a mess.
It’s the difference between 40-15% of the player base. Top plat is basically diamond so 15-16% of players are that good. Right?
u win playing fps till high plat then u need to improve ur ultimate usage / ult tracking
also work on ur comms if u can

3000 to 3400 is muuch easier than climbing from 2800/2900 to 3000 from my experience
