I have been launching into overwatch completly fine for as long as I can remember, then today (2nd of July) I tried launching overwatch and I could not get into my servers. I live in New Zealand and launch onto “Americas” and connect to the sub server somewhere is Australia presumably, how ever today I kept connecting to US West, everyone in my deathmatch/quickplay games was from US west and I got a friend (also from NewZealand) to launch and he had the exact same thing happen, so maybe the OCE PC sub server is down. This results in 240-400 Ms (in practice range or in Quickplay/Arcade games) so maybe the OCE, not fun
I believe there are some problems with OCE servers currently, there is a considerable number of people with the same problem as you have, me included
this is happening to me also, happened to me also when the season ended last month. I don’t know why this happens but it’s very frustrating
Same here, except I get put in to the Singapore servers, trying to play with mates in Aussie, even a custom game didn’t work
I called blizzard support and the guy told me it’s a problem to do with blizzard servers communicating with certain ISP’s… I’m with iPrimus, up until yesterday my games were full of Aussies and Kiwi’s but now I’m being thrown in matches with 140ms and full of Koreans. He suggested to try a VPN service to try to force yourself into your own servers. I haven’t tried this but will when my pay goes in tomorrow, hoping it’ll work.
Same issue mate, Aus servers must have shat their dax
I wouldn’t spend a dime on an option that might not even work. IDC how bad you want to play that’s just bad customer support.
Hoping the problem gets fixed soon or get some kind of compensation. A few OWL skins might do the trick.
I’ve been forced to dodge 3 games because of this issue today. Losing me 150 SR in total purely because I’m apparently in a different server somehow so I couldn’t connect to games when queue’ing with friends… I’ve resorted to using my mobile data… luckily I have 100GB of data a month.
I don’t recommend spending money on a VPN service in hopes to fix this issue though.
BTW just to be clear, my mobile company (the data I’m using to play on Australian servers) is through a different provider than my internet.
Mobile is Optus, internet is iPrimus.
