High ping (Spain)

Hi everyone!
First time posting here but I’m really lost about what should I do now.

From yesterday (28 hours ago to be exactly) I started playing Overwatch as I do everyday and I noticed something wasn’t going as it should go, you know. I just kept playing thinking it will got fixed by the next day, but no. Same today.
I just activated to see the ping above on the left side and it shows around 120 and 180ms. I don’t know what I had before but this is really high according to all the other games I play.
I’ve already tryed what they say on the Connection Troubleshooting post on the old forum (even the advanced one).

I think this is what is needed to receive support. Hope it helps:

  • City/Country: Madrid, Spain
  • Internet Provider: Movistar
  • Got both Traceroute and the Pathping but I cannot upload it here (at least I don’t know how) neither paste the text (it doesn’t let me post adresses).

I was playing while running those commands.

Post addresses with spaces in them to bypass the error. And use the </> icon on the post editor to add a large chunk of test. Also, please use a WinMTR, not pathping or traceroute, because it gives a more clear picture of the issue.

Im from Spain too. And i´ve been having the same problem with latency. Always from 130 to 180 when i usually have around 60-70. My internet provider is Movistar too and im from Canary Islands.

Hi, I’m from Spain Too, Alicante. My ISP is Movistar and I’ve noticed +100ms latency increase. I usually have 60-70 and now it’s always 170-180.

Spain here too, Girona, and since Ashe’s patch my latency has been stuck around 150ms when usually I had around 70ms. My internet provider is Movistar as well, but I’ve checked my internet connection and it’s fine as always, and of course I have no background process/downloads draining my bandwidth… I don’t know what else I can do :frowning:

All of the lines associated with your ISP are showing connection issues and packet loss. The connection to Blizzard routing partners looks like it is running smoothly. Contact your ISP for service on your lines coming to the house.

From the initial WinMTR test, it does appear to be occuring with the ISP.

For these situations, you’ll want to contact the ISP. However, I’d like to gather more information. Could we have additional WinMTR tests to look through to confirm?

I have the same problem; ping is around 160ms all the time (Usually i have 70ms).

Same problem, 120 ping for no reason with movistar, Spain. 5 days ago had no problem

No way. I’ve talked to a friend of mine working there and he told me that when they come to make a visit they’ll only check the downloading and uploading speed. If that’s ok they’lll charge an amount (dunno how much).

I have the same problem, my latency is now around 130ms all the time. Some days ago it was much lower (Usually i have 30/40ms).

Same issue since monday I think. I get 120ms where I usually got 30 or so.
Same case, Movistar (Telefonica), Spain (Madrid).

I only get this issue with Overwatch, any other game I’ve been playing works fine.

Thank you all for the continued reports. We are continuing looking in to what is causing these connection troubles for players in Spain. We do have a forum post on the European forums that we are collecting information on and are updating as we know more. Please do post in that forum thread and keep any eye on it for any updates.

I’m having the same issue, I’ll start a match and after the initial latency influx it settles back to 50ms. Periodically and consistently it will shoot up from 50-350ms then settle back down for a short period of time. I’ve checked with my roommates, and they’re not downloading. I’ve updated my router firmware, my Windows 10 is on the latest version. I’ve forwarded my ports and closed all other apps while running the game. I’ve done internet speed tests and I get above average results. I’m located up in Canada playing on the Americas server.

Your issue is unrelated to the one being discussed in this topic, which is for players in Spain. Please start a new thread with your WinMTR results so we can troubleshoot.

Same problem here. My ISP is also Movistar Telefonica so I’m hoping for a fix soon.

Solved today. We spammed a topic on the Movistar Forum xD
