I’m in the philippines and i used to have 50-60ms but recently it alternated between 50 and 180. Now it’s always on 180.
I also checked the net (CTRL-SHIFT-N) and i’m apparently being put on LAX servers now. We’re supposed to be on Singapore right?

Are you on PLDT? Been having the same issue since last week.
We should be getting on PSE (singapore) servers.
Yes. Started around the last patch and got worse. It’s not like the ping steadily went up, it’s either 50-60 or 180-200 and it’s now the latter.
Yep. It feels like it’s been this way for 4 days now. 180-200ms. PLDT fibr user here, I wonder if it’s a problem with the pse1 (singapore) server or our connection to them.
It’s probably a routing issue from Blizzard, OCE people are having the same problem too.
Any updates? I’m still connecting to LAX. Is there a way to atleast force our clients to connect to singapore?
Pse1 still gives the same latency. I tried everything. Even Diablo lags.
From your other post, it seems you’re using some sort of gaming VPN, not sure exactly how that works, but it still adds some latency compared to if the game just connects to the server directly.
Some apparently do manage to connect to PSE1 somehow and their pings go back to normal.
I got connected back to Pse1 while playing with my friends who live in other Asian countries as well. The ping I had was the same with lax1. I installed Exitlag to counter the latency, it worked. I hope this gets fixed soon as using another program before playing is a hassle.
I really need to find an article or something that explains how those things work. The network is supposed to get your data packets through in the shortest route possible, so how are these gaming vpns able to bypass all that when they’re essentially piggybacking off the same network.
So, is it a network problem? An ISP (PLDT) problem? Or a client (battle.net) problem?
I’ve tried looking up what talia is because it looks like the lag starts when it gets to them, and i think it’s Blizzards network provider? I can’t find anything like a traffic or status indicator for talia nor anything that would explain why there’s a slowdown.
I too have been experiencing severe connection problems with all Blizzard games (only blizzard games). I connect to a US server for WoW Classic and my ping has been abnormally high for the last few weeks. Ranging from 250ms when it is a good day and 5000ms on a bad day. I am using PLDT 100mbs Fiber connection with a 2ms ping locally. The problem apparently is a routing issue. The signal is being routed through very congested servers in Asia instead of going directly through to the USA.
I am not using a VPN but have considered it to try to fix this problem.
Telia Carrier is the service provider for Blizzard. I have no idea really if its an ISP or Blizzard problem though.
I’ve been Having this same problem as of the Halloween Update, I used to have 5-20ms Ping since i use PLDT Fiber, but ever since the update its been at 180-300ms ping, this does not happen to other games and I hope it to be resolved soon
Same here. Ever since the Halloween patch, the latency has spiked up to 150-200+ ping on every single server I get into. I tried to traceroute IP addresses from training and I keep getting request time outs at every 8-10+ hops onwards. I even tried to VPN to HK and SG servers and it’s still the same.
I’ve read that even on other threads that Oceanic players are experiencing the same issues and yet Blizzard still claims it’s an “ISP issue”.
I am also only experiencing this with Blizzard games. It appears to affect Overwatch as well as WoW classic. None of my other games are having this problem.
My ping right this moment is 1079ms/1905ms (realm/game) connecting to Faerlina WoW Classic.
Edit: It’s now 1049ms/3739ms
Ping in pretty much back to normal and i’m now connecting to PSE1. Awesome. Hope this holds.
Did anyone see any changes or news on PLDT? or was this fixed on the Server?
It was back to normal yesterday after the patch but now it’s gone back to 180+ ping on either Americas / Asia server.
Seriously Blizzard?
Same, it was back to normal and now it’s 180 again.
Thanks for your reports everyone! Sorry that we haven’t gotten to this sooner, but we did notice some issues with the Philippines a little over a week ago. I added this forum post to our tracking.
Could those impacted provide WinMTR tests while running the game for 10-15 minutes? If you can include the server that it’s routing to as well. Press CTRL+SHIFT+N and at the top left corner next to the IP address, you should see some like [LAX1].
Thanks for your reports, everyone and apologies again that we didn’t get to this sooner!
