hello all this issue is ruining overwatch for me. long story short im in AUS in SYD servers so my ping should be like 20 but nearly 50% of my games i end up with 300+ ping for no reason. check the server im in SYD so its not that. Test my internet its not that either, try another game they work fine. restart my router does nothing, the only thing that works sometimes is to exit to desktop but even then sometimes its 3-4 times to get it to give me a good ping or even not at all. makes it hard to play the game when one game i have 20 ping thinking its okay then i Q comp and cop 300 ping making me useless. ive tried battle net and steam both have the issue i even put –LimitServerRegion=AU1 in the code on battle.net and it does nothing im in sydney anyway which is where i want to be but cop 300 ping. this is my last place im going before i probably put the game down for good. its annoying when you have an hour or two to play and this happens id say 50% of the time. spend more time closing / launching OW than i do playing it these days and its unfair to my teammates when i Q up and im useless because of 300 ping someone help please ive also tried VPNs port forwarding etc im sick of people saying its my internet when the ONLY game theres and issue with is OW
Yep. I have the exact same issue. From NZ, 300+ ping for no reason. Like its routing a round trip around the world for no reason. No explanation. Other people in NZ on ~50. There are heaps of these posts but Blizz has yet to even reply to one let alone address it.
Same here, No support from blizzard here. its a joke
I somewhat regularly experience this too. It’s only when I connect to the sydney servers I get the additional 300ms ping at random.
I can confirm its not my PC. Its not my local network. And its not likely my ISP. Because we have two people play in this house at the exact same time and same game. And one of us can end up with 300+ ping with the other at 30-40.
Closing and reopening the game and checking practice range is the only somewhat reliable way to see if the bug is occurring and to fix it.
This absolutely atrocious and the worst its been in years for me, 1 game AU servers next game Chinese servers next game America I’m Australian an somehow ended up on American servers like what. Blizzard got to get to work asap or their competitor gonna win AU real quick.
im getting games between 16ms, 100MS, and 280MS….
Usual ping is around 40. in the last month something has changed and every 4th game approx is ping 190, or 290. I’m loosing comp games because of this. Sometimes it’s enough to restart the game, sometimes it takes 2 or 3 relogs to fix the problem…. pls do something
