High latency/Low FPS after Win11 update

After a windows 11 update, OW2 has been unplayable with terrible latency which leads to random FPS drops.
Minimal issues in training mode, but as soon as I play online with other players, I’m stuck in spawn until I get kicked for inactivity.
Updating graphics driver helped a little bit but not enough to play the game properly

No issues with FPS/latency prior to update

Update was:
2023-07 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 22H2 for x64 (KB5028851)
2023-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5028185)

Any ideas? TIA

(total noob at putting my system details on the post - please kindly guide me)

Try Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) software in safe mode to completely remove all traces of your GPU driver then reinstall latest GPU driver.

But is it really the graphics card if it runs pretty much perfect on training grounds?

As soon as I enter any online mode, it drops like crazy

And my other games work completely fine online too!

What CPU are you using?

Could be shader compilation utilising your CPU cycles and causing the game to lose frames and desync.

AMD Ryzen 5 3550H with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx
Graphics: Radeon RX 560X

Thanks

Same problem with that update

Usually unistalling it fixes everything, but now i’m afraid that it doesn’t unistall at all

I ended up factory resetting my laptop which fixed it. But eventually, the same update happened and I’m back to square one :frowning:

My issue, sounds similar.

I disabled all manually enabled windows features (vm/hypervisor & Linux subsystem support and such) and re-enabled memory integrity protection through windows security settings

I have played one unranked and one ranked without any issues.

Default settings for graphics in game, vsync, triple buffering off. Reduce buffering on, custom frame rate 300, custom resolution scale 101%, nvidia boost enabled. Dynamic frame rate off.

I’m on ultra settings on a laptop; model of device is provided in my post link above which is, what seems like, similar problem.

Same, but apparently that update stack to something.

Thanks for posting!

How do I do this?:

I disabled all manually enabled windows features (vm/hypervisor & Linux subsystem support and such)

Sorry, am noob with computers

Edit:

I’ve done this alone but no luck
Re-enabled memory integrity protection through windows security settings

If you factory reset your pc, there is no need to concern yourself with that part. They are manually enabled and or disabled.

As far as the settings in game. Press three lines button (I use controller) or ESC on your keyboard at the landing screen after game has launched and loaded. Top left you’ll navigate to the video* option. Try enabling “reduce buffering” and disabling “vsync” and “triple buffering”. If they are already disabled meaning they say “off”, you’re good.

I’ve had better gameplay with those settings like that. I’ve noticed the game makes a sound where it like wants to drop frames and stuff but it doesn’t, my animations continue as they were.

Hope your issue resolves.

lol I couldn’t figure out how to fix the reply to you. But my response is before this.

Thanks for the reply.
Sadly those setting changes didn’t make much of a difference!

I was hoping the new update or playing on Steam may make a difference but still unplayable…

Is it normal that i have this update and i’m on windows 10?

dunno but has it messed up your game?

Yes. Can’t play it without constant stuttering and frame drops.

Yeah same issue - seems like it’s unrelated to win10/11
