Heroes you only play to counter

I never was much of a counterswapper. I generally try to stick to my mains or whoever I feel like playing. But I’ll still do it occasionally if I have to depending on my mood etc.

There is only one notable exception. If I see a Winston on the other team and I’m playing dps there is a very good chance I’m going Bastion. Even though I rarely play him normally. I just really hate Winston and his stupid 5000 hp bubble. Especially when they are good and showing no respect for my team.

If I swap to one of my mains in order to counter a hero, like Ana vs. Hog, Ball vs. Widow, etc. then I don’t really consider it a counterswap. I see that as more of a “you asked for it” type of situation. So I don’t really feel guilty about it like I might switching to Zarya (one of my lesser played tanks but I still know how to play her) to counter a D.Va, for example.

Do you think counterswapping is lame or a necessary evil? What are the heroes you only play to counter a specific hero?

It’s not even necessary.
People need to stop the hyperfocus on counterswapping and learn to play the game properly.

I do it all the time when I see genji I go Mei when I see pharah I go 76 when I see Winston I also go bastion etc. they always end up swapping and I’ll counter swap that swap too

Lol? Bastion vs monkey? You’re just going to get rolled by the other DPS XD. When does bastion work against dive. What world.

It doesn’t always work the best but I can usually at least get the monkey to switch eventually. Sometimes he is their only good player so if you can stop him you win.

If his team is also good then its probably gg anyway. My dps is plat 5 so that is the “world” in which we are dealing with here.
