Heroes who will be interesting to see in stadium

  • Widowmaker

Actually a number of problems here. The map choices and fast pacing of the game mode do not seem great for snipers. A lot of heroes have some insane mobility options that’d make landing headshots nightmarish. The passive health upgrades means she’ll have to spec heavily into weapon power to even have the oneshot anyone late game, let alone people who are building around survival. And her kit is fairly one note so it may be hard to design upgrades.

I think there is potential though. Like I see a world where you land a headshot on someone and kill them, it spreads a venom cloud to all nearby teammates, you lock onto one of them with grapple hook for a bit of burst damage and then start pumping them with assault rifle damage that gets multiplied by venom

  • Torbjorn

I do not know how they can have his turret multiplied by current ability power rates without the hero becoming miserable to play into. Especially if there are dedicated turret upgrades.

I have a feeling they’re going to have to make most of the turret upgrades have major downsides or be more like sidegrades. Mini turrets with lower health that you can place multiple of, fire turrets that do more damage but have less range, manual turrets that shoot rockets where torb is aiming, etc.

  • Ball

Even with no powers whatsoever, just dealing with a 1200+ base hp ball on a mode that’s mostly ball maps in a mode where you can be stuck on a team with no stuns seems dreadful. This is the only one where I’m completely stumped on what they can do about

  • Doomfist

Similar to ball but not as extreme. Making any of his mobility stronger is just painful to think about. Also think he will be one of the biggest beneficiaries of 3rd person

  • Illari

Kind of the opposite problem, some of these maps pylon already gets crumpled on in 5 seconds flat so throw in powers that’ll make it was easier to destroy and 3rd person that’ll make it easier to notice
