first day of every season never disappoints in terms of variety

Match 1

  • Rein, dva, Winston, Hammond, sigma, zarya, orisa

  • doom, mccree, mei, ashe, echo, sombra, tracer, hanzo, genji, widow, reaper

  • brig, ana, bap, zen, lucio, moira

Match 2

  • Winston, Zarya, Rein, dva, Hammond (kinda), sigma, orisa

  • echo, tracer, mccree, soldier, ashe, mei, sombra, pharah, bastion, hanzo, symmetra, doom

  • brig, ana, bap, lucio, mercy

Overall in roughly most used order (just based on what i saw…didnt actually measure)

  • Rein, Winston, Dva > Sigma, Zarya, Orisa > Hammond
  • Tracer, Mccree, Echo, Mei, Sombra > Ashe, Hanzo > Doom > Genji, Widow, Reaper, Pharah, Soldier, Bastion, Symmetra
  • Brig, Ana, Bap, Lucio >> Mercy, Moira, Zen

not used: Hog, Junk, Torb

note - actually used…sym wasnt going to be listed at all until that last map…widow barely made list (1 point really)

It was more diverse than I thought. Surprised they played double hitscan into double bubble, lul. Like, I am no OWL coach, but yikes.

Very weird day. We had Soldier in rush comps, viol2t McCree, Sparkle Tracer, Bastion defenses…

the sparkle tracer is not super surprising given their hitscan situation…but that soldier comp was weird…

the el presidente defense from gladiators was funny/awesome

but in general it was great to see the variety…and how the different maps influenced picks

Watching OWL today was great. I think that the meta is in a pretty good spot for OWL. Cree may be a little strong but it is fun to watch. The devs have the job of balancing the heroes for comp and OWL though. In the past there has been some rough times because of this. Cautiously optimistic but I think that this is going to be a great season.

yea they should of kept sym tp , the go suicide at stairs guarded by gatekeeper Mei didn’t work out for them

The last 3 heroes to be used LAST year were also Torb junk and hog

Hog went on to be used plenty though…thanks to similar buffs currently on exc…
