After some thinking on hero pools, Hero bans per week is a HUGE positive step for overwatch.
That said, hero bans per week means that the “meta” in overwatch will change every single week, and thats a bit much. But way better than the current 5+years on double shield we are having ._>
I don’t think having it change every month is a bad idea, but it means after the first week were gonna be running the same 12ish heroes on every single map, and if your not one of those 12 heroes your gonna get called a thrower. Kinda what happens already.
Instead, i think Overwatch team should talk to the players, taking advice from them but MOSTLY from the pro players and do specific heroes are banned from specific maps forever (or per season).
This means the meta wont change every week, every month, it will change every game, with all different “meta” team comps being in the game at once, so no “rotation” or mega nerfs/buffs needs to take place to keep the game fluid. Meaning you wont have to quit playing a hero (doom) cause he gets practically stunned every time he uses a specific ability to make him less viable so hes not in the next meta, and you wont have the community whining and complaining about a mercy nerf for the next two weeks.
So Numbani will be a dive map, Kings row will be a brawl map, junkertown will be a hybrid maybe, IDK, but each map will have its own “meta” of heroes to play from, each being a viable choice to pick based on that maps hero pool.
This is where im leaning to if hero pools stay in the game, and tbh i do like this idea here better than hero bans cause there will be a “ban meta” and people complaining you banned their favorite character, and this will fix those issues.
Thoughts or ways to improve these ideas?
