Hero Concept forum?

I was really hoping this was going to be a new subforum.
There’s been some great concepts created by fans, and it’s a shame that for the most part there isn’t an easy way to post them in the forums for the actual game. They have to share that space with every other topic that people have to discuss (slightly less now that Competitive has its own forums).
Instead people will go to places like the Hero Concept subreddit or deviantart or some other site.
Jeff and the team have always talked about how blown away they are with the fan base and the creativity they have, but there isn’t a dedicated space for that.

Can this be something we could get in the future please?

I think the only way we can make “forums” for Hero Concept is by making posts like normal. It sucks, yeah, but I don’t even know if the devs really take our ideas into consideration (besides the one Thai hero that Jeffy had his eyes on).

I don’t mean to imply that the devs will add our ideas one for one just because it’s well recieved.
The devs do listen to us when it comes to what we want as heroes though. Players wanted an alternative to Reinhardt, they gave us Orisa. Players wanted Doomfist, we got Doomfist. Players wanted another healer, they gave us Moria.

What I ultimately expect from the devs is “Hey a lot of people are posting hero concepts with this theme/mechanic. There’s clearly a want for it. How can we make it?”

I always love reading about well thought-out hero concepts (Mostly mechanics, but lore is fun too). I admit I’d use a “Fan Heroes” subforum rather regularly.

Me too. I also think that hero balance discussions should have their own sub because of how much they flood general.

Something for that and skins suggestions similar to HOTS’ forums would be nice additions.

Oh ye, skins too. League of Legends boards have that, but it’s 99% hero concepts haha.

I would love a hero concept forum. Too many of my concepts have been buried too much and since we can no longer bump the threads, they will remain buried, but a forum dedicated to them might solve that.

Not so much a thread. I’m saying the forums should have their own subforum dedicated specifically to players posting hero concepts and ideas.

Well, there isn’t such thing…which is why I made one. It’ll be a weekly series, so it’ll be kinda like a forums.

Maybe there is some way to make also a Megathread for it and it could only contain concept arts and ideas. No discussion about feedback.
Or I think now you can pin topics you like. You can pin these kind of topics and later create a bigger collection topic about it. :slight_smile:

That’s the funny thing…I initially thought of the Hero Concept Thread as a sort-of Megathread sort of idea. But then I figured it would get too cluttered to organize.

I dunno…someday I might change my Hero Concept Thread into a Megathread of sorts…well, that’ll depend on how the Thread goes.
