I’ve actually always supported hero bans and I think it will be great for overwatch. Each team vote for one hero ban. Now you can say that everyone will just keep banning the same hero over and over but it will really depend on the rank. At different ranks different heros will get banned and it will help balance it self out at different ranks.

I think it should be in OWL and maybe GM only.
The problem is in the ladder and QP, people aren’t going to use it for balance, only to ban people’s mains. And as such it’ll only just breed and spread toxicity.

I mean if you want to get rid of double shield you just ban sigma. If you want to get rid of a meta comp you just ban it so you have to play another comp.
Someone already came up with (what I think is) a good solution to that problem. Just do the bans before you reveal all the players in the match.

Oh that’s actually really smart. Like show the map and then disable chat and hide player names until bans are over
Or here is a novel idea, let people play what hero they want in a damn videogame

It’s not forcing them to not play a hero they want to play, if your hero gets banned for ONE game oh well too bad play them next game it’s not a big deal
It is also a lesser of a big deal not to ban any heros at all and let people play what they want when they want and just have fun comp or not it is still just a game, only entertainment

yes but what if it’s a really popular character for people to ban (as in one on the ‘ban these characters’ list that will appear) ? then they will be banned over and over from playing how they want to play.

You know when 3-2-1 hysteria came out I said they should try hero bans before going the nuclear route. Then someone replied that hero bans is the nuclear route. If we’re stuck with role queue I’d take hero bans over 3-2-1 any day.

After a few matches today. Yep totally agree with you.There are a few heroes that I wouldn’t mind not seeing every match. Won’t name names but yeah I’m down.
As a player of the game. I don’t want it because then it means more players lobby dodging and que time issues. 2s is already bad enough. If other games are doing this. Cool, I am here to play overwatch. Not “other game”.
It is just sad how people can easily just dictate which heroes other people can play, like who die and made king of overwatch? Let people play who they want play ehen they want to play
But it’s not like you’re never gonna play the hero again
Doesnt matter anyone should be able to play any hero they want when they want, hero bans are just selfish people want the team to play hero the they want not what their teammates want
