something like this sounds like what Blizzard wants to do so it can “fix” many problems easily, but what it will actually do is create even bigger problems.
I guarantee you many players will leave the game and Overwatch Competitive will not be fun.

You are implying overwatch is fun atm.
im all for this as a symmetra player.
I wanna see which hero gets banned fastest. My sym. Or some other cancer hero.
argue it please?
Why this wil be unhealthy why wil people leave?
Its hard to change opinion if i dont know why…
because there are so many one tricks out there, as much as they kind of suck, you can’t force a onetrick to play something else you’ll lose.
META will actually be harder to balance, heroes will be harder to balance too since they’ll have to make an exception IF the hero gets banned ingame.
they’ll get sick of not playing their favorite hero competitively.

Oke oke I fully agree with this topic!
Dont take my cute chinese girl away from meee…
In 1 way I would say it didnt effect lol but lol have 150+ heros to choose from…
Fully agree. I play Tracer only. Other heroes are not fun at all to me. I will leave games instant after Tracer ban. Go ahead give me -500sr, ban me. I don’t care. I won’t play hero chosen by someone else.
Great idea!
As long as it stays in OWL - who cares.
If it comes to the main game, I’m just gonna throw the match if i’m denied characters I want to play.
I’m expected to hate on you for admitting that you’ll ruin someone’s game experience by throwing, but they already ruined yours so
-Main reason being this isn’t a MOBA so it wouldn’t work to begin with.
-The current roster is way too small when it is 6v6- so a maximum of 12 heroes out of 31. That’d leave the options slim. We’d need at least 50 or so heroes (which, let’s face it, we probably won’t get there) at minimum.
-It’s bad game design for an FPS that’s already limited what we can do with role queue.
-It can lower morale, aka people who are easily angered might throw if the hero (or heroes) they had in mind to play are removed from the roster for that game.
Ya know, just general things. It’d really only be a “good” thing if it was applied to the more competitive side of the game; aka the top players in Masters and GM (or OWL only). They can easily adapt. People below can’t do that very well and are more than likely a lot more salty than they are.
In other words they need to learn other heroes. They shouldn’t be one tricks to begin with and if hero bans help curb that then bring them.
And you will be reported.
You can guarantee nothing until we see how Blizzard are going to implement it, if we’re even getting a hero ban system at all.
These forums love to complain about stuff that doesn’t even exist yet.
Already said that also in my command that lol is a bad axample.
I think hero bans will make the Tank situation even worse. Imagine if the enemy team bans someone like Zarya; just by doing that, they’ve removed Zarya out of the equation, and made sure that Reinhardt is going to have to play pretty passive if they pick him, effectively removing your ability to run a Brawl comp. This becomes an issue when Tanks try to play something to help their team’s fighting style, but they physically cannot due to the bans.
This is all considering the team even agrees on which hero to ban, and that’s an entire can of worms to be opened by someone else in this thread.
I would be fine to see this in a tournament/OWL format, but if this comes to solo-queue, I’m very likely to stop playing Tank.
Its gonna be issues for other roles as well; imagine if the 2 banned heros were Sombra and Mei (both unpopular heros to play against, shouldn’t be too uncommon). Now what’s stopping both teams from running Ball and destroying the enemy backline repeatedly? It would come down to whichever team’s Hammond can perform better with their team.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t that an issue with Widow at the higher levels?
Again, I think this would be cool at an OWL level, because they have the synergy and time to work around problems and make the bans work in their favor.
In solo-queue, people are still arguing over whether Winston is considered a Main Tank or an Off-Tank, and swearing on their SR’s fresh grave that Genji and Doomfist require a Reinhardt to be effective because they need a shield.
There are enough DPS heroes for bans to work; not so much for the other roles. At least you can change your Support duos up; you can’t do that for the Tank role anywhere near as effectively.
The competitive part of Overwatch is the parts that needs hero bans the most
The casual part is the one that would suffer
Oh, it’s not going to be intentional. I’m just gonna show the world my best of playing Zen.
I did list more than those reasons.
And, people have better reasons than me above.
Ik ik , I already did agree with the post earlyer ^^ (some one else did alsi highlight the reasons)
I will never understand why this community wants to limit their choices in how to play the game. What is the next step when this doesn’t work, map bans? The issue is the inadequate balancing, and hero bans won’t solve that. Players who often get their character banned will just stop playing.
We already have map rotations BTW. Which are completely horrible - as much as I missed Rialto previous season, there are only so many Rialto matches per day I can take in this.
