Ok, so I've read over the gimmicks behind hero bans and I just can’t figure this one out. The table below lists my team’s ban picks for a round I played earlier. I clipped so I could go back and check, and this was what it looked like at the very last second:
Ban #1 | Ban #2 | Ban #3 | |
---|---|---|---|
Me | Doomfist | Wrecking Ball | |
Tank* | Zarya | Doomfist | Mei |
Damage* | Zarya | Doomfist | — |
Damage | Zarya | Doomfist | |
Support (Ana) |
Some other notes:
- Only the other support had picked a preferred hero (Ana)
- My tank and the first DPS were the only two who “readied up*”
- The first DPS readied up without a third ban slot, hence the “—”
- The other team’s bans were Winston and Freja
Now, given all that, how does it make sense that my team banned Mei and Doomfist? The game ended up being a Zarya mirror. Is there some niche quirk in the ban system that explains this, or is it just a bug/visual glitch?
