Here's one more reason(s) why tanking is awful

With 6v6, we would think, “hm, how can we synergize our tanks? You can be zarya and try to support our entrance to the point, and I will be dva, trying to clear the high grounds.”

With 5v5, “ah crap, I can’t play zarya cuz it’s numbani.”

Not only the enemy chooses what tank we must play by their infinite counter picking, but also the maps gatekeep us as well.

And then your support goes lucio and zen, and congrats. You can just stay at the spawn and wait for the next game cuz your supports also gatekeep your tank choice as well.

And then you go doomfist on numbani, thinking “at least I can fight in the air” and then you look, and your dps is non-dive, like junkrat and widow.

The map, the enemy, your support, your dps, it’s like they all work together in perfect harmony to ruin your experience as a tank.

The only thing that determines the tank I select is my own free will. Enemies or maps have no influence on my decision.

No, not them either. I am the only person who decides.

They can try.

yeah same, I pick my tank of choice, if the team sucks for that so be it. Not that I care enough to play a tank I dislike.

Even if a map is highground-centric, there’s still an objective to take in mind.

If you properly rotate and use cooldowns, you can survive long enough on the lowground to continuously push the payload forward despite the highground pressure.

Eventuallt the enemies will have to drop and play on your turf as they feel the need to stop the cart, that’s when you get a chance to fight back.

Not everyone cares enough to think
“We have two snipers and a brawl tank, i need to pick a support that can help contest the objective with the tank”.
