Help with aim training?

Hi! I’m trying to make my aim better, as its pretty much everytime under 30% (28, 26, 24 mostly) and i want to get better. I’ve tried to train ingame but i feel like i’m going nowhere. I also dont know how to perfect my sens.

What do you do to practice your aim? Just play and wait for it to improve? I need tips

After I change my aim settings it can take a couple of weeks to retrain my muscle memory, so if you change it, don’t beat yourself up. What heroes are you playing?

Just play the game … there is no better aim training.

I’ve always played “aimless” heroes like junkrat, mei, sym, etc. But now i’m playing ashe and i want to be able to hit shots haha. Even if theyre aimless heroes, i still have pretty bad aim with them.

Hmm, maybe you’re sensitivity is too high? If you feel like your reticle is moving faster than your brain can process, it might be too high.

It is too high, if i remember correctly i have it at 5.7+ I just feel the necesitty of being able to flick quickly and move around fast bc playing junk or pharah is like that hahah. I could lower ashes sens tho, i just thought about that. But, i dont know what sens would be good. I ALSO DONT KNOW HOW TO CHANGE MY DPI everyone talks about it and i dont know what it is

I feel with the hit scan you have to flick or you keep missing because of the movement. I’m just silver tho and trying to get better aim too I’m at 40% scoped accuracy but miss way to many easy shots

yeah, i need a balance between low sens to have more accuracy and being able to flick and move quickly. man this is so difficult.

I also have +40% or so with ashe but im super inconsistent.

  1. If you don’t already, go and buy a nice mouse. There are plenty of guides to help you, but make sure that the mouse has software if you want to change the DPI. The mouse I use is a Logitech G502.
  2. Make sure that your sensitivity is correct for you. If you find yourself overcompensating, lower your sens. If you find yourself undercompensating, increase your sens.
  3. Get an aim trainer. I use Aim Lab on Steam, it’s free, quick and easy.
  4. Warm up. Every day when I start to play Overwatch, I warm up in Widow HS lobbies.

Good luck! I can answer any more questions you have.

I use the training mode ZCAR8 and do the Sphere Frenzy. My best score is 72 (started with 52( but some people have over 100. I think it has improved my aim on things like Pharahs and Tracers.

thank you for the advice!!

I have pretty low budget when it comes to gaming devices. I play with the cheapest gaming brand they have in stores nearby. It has rainbow lds and two side buttons (VERY USEFUL!!! I CAN MELEE!) also because of corona i’m playing in my laptop, not the usual 24" monitor i have on my cheap gaming pc.

I heard buying a 180hrz monitor helps significantly, and the recurring joke of having gaming chairs.

i’ll download the aim trainer!!

144 hz is better, but not necessary. I play 60 FPS and I play just fine, around 40%-50% acc on hitscan. You can get good gaming mice for under $50.

my budget is like 15€…

If you really want to improve your aim, you might have to spend some money. A $5 mouse isn’t going to cut it.

Well you could use something like this workshop mode: CAVE5 (if it still works cuz of updates)

i know… mine is 5€ and its broken. it works perfectly but you can hear the pieces inside moving around if you shake it. its pretty bad but its comfortable and im used to it…

Basic lvl

Custom game - create - settings-import code - T3KRJ
This is not workshop mode, this is just copying of my settings which includes
Map: Temple of Anubis / Numbani (manual switch)
Bots : Anna hs only (cant hit bodyshots on them)
Heroes to train : All hitscans (Ashe,wm,s76,cree)
Objective conditions:
Kill all Anna bots on the point until 1st one killed will reach the point again from spawn room. Position: defenders platform. Example : https://youtu.be/W4s4xJ4q0Ds?t=180
After reached objective you can manualy increase bot’s movement speed, 30-55% is recomended value.
After Temple of Anubis you can switch to Numbani map, to work at medium-long range shots, bc Anubis was for short-medium distance practice.

ADVANCED :

Workshop code : Q3PBT
This one is for advanced training, because bots here are moving less predictable. Read description to setup your range.
Possibilities : phar-mercy shooting practice, genji bot, df bot, bots spaming crouch from time to time, bots jump, bots low gravity.
Goal : 200 elims with certain hero and accuracy of 31-50%

Workshop code : 48701
This one is for tracking only parctice
Recomended heroes : s76, cree
Goal : accuracy 50-65%

Workshop code : AJERA
Improved Practice Range.

All those at start you should practice from 30 minutes to 2h a day, to get results, then after you feel it, you can decrease time to consistent 30 minutes a day before actual match.

It’s prob easier to do this with a video, but I wanna give a short summary on what I know. Before I do though, I really recommend showing me what mouse you have, so I can have a better idea of what you are working with.

First off, let’s talk about Grip and Control. When you aim and move your mouse, you typically have two of three points of Control, your Fingers, Wrist, and Arm. Depending on your sens, you may use Fingers and Wrist, or Wrist and Arm. Usually never all 3 because it’s harder to control and be consistent with. Based on that is what determines your ideal sens and grip.

If you aim with your Wrist and Arm, Palm with a lower sens is great. If it’s your fingers and wrist, Fingertip with a higher sens. Otherwise you could always just Claw till you find a sens that works for you.

As far as finding your sens goes, it really comes down to how you want to aim. You have two types of fast sweeping motions, a Flick, and a Swipe. A Flick is a quick movement with just your wrist, a Swipe is with your arm. If you want to flick, and do a 180 degree turn, or be able to look behind you, a higher sens is what you want. If you want to do a 90 degree turn and look to your left or right, then a lower sens will do.

The best way to find your sens is by feel, and then settle on something for a while until you feel ready to take it to the next step. Or look up the PSA method.

My method of finding my sens is more unorthodox, I basically just used the in game fov, and the width of my hand or grip, got to a good spot, then slowly turned it down from there as needed. Prob won’t work for most people.

Get a high refresh rate monitor with the frames to match the refresh rate.

It’s the most important thing for aim and timing.
