Hey guys.
So I’m trying to fix ‘my’ version of the Reinhardt Invasion Remastered mode. It’s old, it was originally created (not by me) back in Overwatch 1. I changed a few things in it over the past few months, but it’s mostly related to balancing Heroes (so outside the actual Workshop scripting).
There is a main sort of “gimmick” in my version which is:
- Some specific Heroes in the cast become bigger when they perform their Ult (and regress back to normal size when the Ult is done).
- Sometimes after dying and randomly getting another Hero, you remain big in size.
- The ‘Fast & Tiny’ Reinhardt wave variation significantly made them much faster (than any other Reinhardt invasion mode variants around).
- The last Reinhardt boss (last wave) is somewhat faster and deals more damage than the usual similar modes.
As you can see, it’s nothing that crazy, pretty simple. In fact I even removed some scripts which were dating back to the original version (if anything it’s maybe simpler, more ‘Arcade’-style in gameplay with my changes; it’s faster-paced in general as the Reinhardts movement speed was globally increased, but there’s nothing too crazy in this mode otherwise).
With all this said, I have recurring server crash issues with the ‘Excessive Script Load’ message.
I didn’t always have this issue before but I’m not sure what happened, or what I’ve done maybe the past the month or two (maybe), but as of late this issue has been continuously plaguing my mode. I do sometimes have crash-less games… which leads me to think that it can be fixed, but I’d say I have a server crash maybe 8 games out of 10, at some point or another (can be Wave #5, or Wave #49, whatever, it just happens at some point).
If anyone could please look into this, maybe the Workshop scripting portion I’d highly appreciate it. Do keep in mind however that I didn’t create this mode originally. I only did some copy-pasting and some minor adjustments whenever I thought I could do them to come up with ‘my gimmicks’ but that’s it.

I would highly appreciate if anyone qualified in this sort of thing could give me some pointers maybe, perhaps where in the script you’d think something might be causing excessive script load, etc.
