So I didn’t want this video to come off as copium or just “Wishful thinking” or denial you hear it all the time Lifeweavers bad he needs a rework he won’t be good without tons and tons of buffs, and he’s never been good.
That last part is especially not true season I wanna say 6-8 he was doing perfectly fine the reason most people probably didn’t even notice this issss you probably still just stuck to the healbot style more on that I’m a bit. Mauga another Lifeweavers counters was released as well as the season 9 changes before this Lifeweaver was actually on top of the world and one of the first heros I hit masters with. Simply because I could play him literally better then anyone else.
A lot of people give themselves all kinds of excuses like if you want to dps why not play Kiriko or Baptiste oh the charge time takes to long, which is weird because even like if your Rein hits a huge shatter or your Mei hits a half way decent Blizzard people still don’t use his guns, everyone has trained you that you HAVE to healbot at all times this is the absolute worst possible hero for literally anything else at all, I’m a deathweaver I mix in heals and damage like a perfect soup at any moment in the game you’re telling me can’t… Like anticipate your Ashe about to Bob or Zarya grave and like follow up on that?
But that’s the problem isn’t it? Weavers always been the “Joke” the “Fun” hero do “relax” hero right? His release definitely didn’t do him any favors this heal and only heal mentality has followed him from that day forward.
Then season 9 also came around and that DEFINITELY didn’t do him any favors especially not into a dva meta.
This also damages his win rate because people think Weaver just “always” gets value somewhat and if you lose or something it’s not about a dps or tank doff or whatever you specifically played Lifeweaver into something you had no business doing, I remember freaking talking to this GM streamer Muma yeah so don’t play Weaver into Pharah, of course ya know he thought the same thing everyone else did if you just “Play it right” and all that and from the perspective everyone else sees weaver as sorta just like this irrelevant sorta bot that he contributes nothing and something at the same time (mainly nothing) ya know he probably at first thought Lifeweaver was an irrelevant factor into Pharah… He switched after the 3rd death.
And that’s another thing that adds onto Lifeweavers abysmal win rate right? Lifeweaver HAS Counters he’s not just this “Fun” I can play him anytime I want any moment I want hero, Mauga, Ball, hell Sombra sometimes, Pharah Especially, Echo, an actual competent Lifeweaver on the enemy team who can mix damage and healing.
Switch, I don’t care if it worked that 1 game in freaking 1987 where you ended with 1502062101k healing switch, he’s not Bap he can’t just brute force his way through things that are bad for him, he’s not Ana, he’s not Kiriko. He can do damage and get value just like all of them just fine but you need to respect the damn hero and his match ups.
And none of this is like a “Oh I’m so much smarter then high ranked players” thing that just causes more confusion because understand high ranked players with like a different type of understanding, they take “The path of least resistance” and “Guaranteed” value which is the bait Lifeweaver just staying in the back healing and surviving looks like “Guaranteed” Value compared to all that “Silly” “unnecessary” damage dealing stuff and setting up plays or whatever, and if you’re in lower ranks that makes you think A these players “Got to” GM playing Weaver like this (they did not) or that they just have such a fundemental understanding of the entire game then obviously there right about every single last hero… I have gone entire streams days watching streamers before I even see 1 Lifeweaver I’m a GM lobby this hero is a joke to them… And can’t really blame them because well everyone’s been circle jerking the same false information about who Lifeweaver is as a hero and what he can do, his initial impression was bad like insanely bad.
I also never here anyone else talk about ya know don’t play Weaver into Mauga or with a Mauga or against Pharah or how he’s great into Torb and Orisa or what maps really favors him or well anything really.
I’m trying to be nice and avoid that 1 healbot Weaver who screams loud saying they have a positive win rate when 97% of every public Lifeweaver profile has been negative that is no joke like even in his “Better” seasons just negative negative negative and the “Smartest thing to do” is just don’t play Lifeweaver? That’s the joke right just don’t play Weaver no matter what? If people did the way they are now oh it be lower then the 46% it is right now in diamond and below.
No one even like plays this hero to Reay explore him and if they do it’s that 1 outta VC Lifeweaver with all the weird Lifegrips at the worst times just pumping heals into the tank all game.
Lifeweaver can do damage and heal just “Don’t go overboard” that’s the key it’s not that just healing is the always safer option to play him at full power just don’t go overboard you have to trust yourself with that no one else.
As for everyone else I’ve only very very very very rarely seen people complain about a Lifeweaver doing damage… Don’t do that you’ll just make an actual useful Lifeweaver self conscious, I still have Lifegrip to save you, I still have platform hell I can even body block or use tree and sometimes yes I could of switched hands 5hrs ago and made sure I healed you IT HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FACT HE WAS DAMAGEING OR NOT I don’t know where this it takes soooo freaking long and he has to babysit you all hrs of everyday 24/7 to like no shut up please I beg especially ESPECIALLY with this new pre charge buff he probably just misread the situation and then was to slow on the reaction to try and heal you, had he actually ya know simply switched to heals in time ONTOP of actually adding pressure damage and helping secure kills you’d be kissing his feet at the fact you actually had a Lifeweaver who was freaking useful for once.
He takes skill you need to be able to read things like that, I get how everyone else thinks about him that’s not freaking Lifeweaver that’s a completely different hero that just does like 1 thing in Lifeweaver “Likeness” that’s just a 25% imitation.
I get it okay He’s not Ana anti nade is an ability that fundamentally effects the game… So is Suzu because of anti and status effects in general Zens discord Baptiste… Well everything but dispite all that Lifeweaver when played correctly STILL DOES JUST FINE!
He’s not meant to be a “Meta” hero and that might just be “Cope” he has things he likes things he dislikes etc yeah he can’t just brute force his way through everything (especially his counters literally just switch).
But he’s not this freaking abused pitiful sad puppy that needs everyone’s Baby talk and apologies.
He doesn’t need a “Rework” (tho something extra would be nice), he doesn’t need a “perfect” Meta specifically for a healbot style if Lifeweavers “Meta” it won’t ruin the game he’s not “fundamentally flawed” like just play the damn hero correctly.
Stop trying to play this brain off I don’t have to think style of Lifeweaver just because you saw it work that 1 time and a guy ended the game with like 30k healing just sitting in Narnia and healing every single bit of any form of damage his team took… Cause that ain’t him that’s not who Lifeweaver actually is or how he’s actually played not in terms of “well that’s how Gms do it” or “it worked that 1 time” that’s not him period.
He’s not “The best” but he is far far far far FARRRRRR better then all these damn negative win rates I keep seeing across overbuff and virtually every single Lifeweaver profile I have opened and been able to see.
