I am having trouble with doomfists on comp, so I decided to practise him in qp, but I still can’t quite get what is he suppossed to do.
Is his role just a big dps and disturbing a comp, like for example, Killing snipers?
Idk if i’m explaining myself well. Just tell me what I am suppossed to be doing with doomfist to be useful. Thank you!
Rocket Punch people and use it push them were you want them to be, where they will be vulnerable. Mostly away from the objective and into walls. You can also punch them into your team’s effects (like Soujourns pain orb) or line of fire - separating individuals from the rest of the group. You can use RP to cancel some enemy abilities too, like Moira’s Coalescence.
Secondly use you Block to shield squishies on your team, mainly your Support.
Jump into and Slam the enemy backlines to pester their healers and snipers. Doomfist is 1 of 2 Tanks in this game thats very good for punishing Widow players (the other being Winston). When Slamming always try to face as many foes as you can.
Especially in the last season I would say that you should not feel afraid to waste your Empowered Rocket Punch to back away in a pinch. That 1 hit is mostly not worth you dying over it.
Stay mobile but dont commit fully to the dive, return regularly to your pack. Don’t be greedy and (depending on the map/game mode) stay in position in front of your team, trying to keep the enemy away from your team. Deep diving will get you killed quickly.
Spray left click upon the enemy team, and use it or melee to finish them off.
When using you Ult try and anticipate the enemy movement and try and hit as many as you can, preferably slow squishies. But you can also “waste” it to get out of tough situations (like under heavy fire or falling down a pit) returning to your team.

I need also add, that you should try and pick Doom as a counter to the enemy Tank.
Since he is very mobile and can push people away he is very good at countering slow and close range Tanks.
Reinhardt is easily countered by Doomfist, also Sigma because he is so slow. Some people don’t believe it but I found him good against Zarya too, at least on certain maps.
On the other hand, if the enemy swaps to Orisa or Roadhog you might want to consider changing the hero. Orisa will give you trouble because she can be immovable and can push you back or even cancel your RP with Javelin.
Hog might be doable, but only if you have good DPS on your side, because on your own you won’t be able to dmg or block him much.
