Help for screen tearing without using vsync

It’s driving me bonkers, without vsync it’s a choppy mess but with vsync there’s input delay.

I’m on a gaming laptop that unfortunately uses hybrid Nvidia/Intel HD Graphics GPU’s which means limited Nvidia settings if that helps.

Sorry to say but I think you’re stuck.

You could try NVIDIA Fast Sync but that’s gonna stutter if you don’t have FPS at least twice as high as your refresh rate.

If you can push FPS high enough, tearing becomes less and less visible, so there’s that.

Yeah, I’ve tried overclocking my monitor up to 85 refresh rate, but tearing is still bad. Really sucks.

Gaming laptop is bad.
Try updating the NVidia graphics drivers direct from NVidia

That would increase yourlikelyhood of tearing.

To make tearing less noticeable you need your FPS to be much higher than your refresh rate.

What framerate do you have? And what graphic quality settings?

I’ve got framerate cap at max 300 in-game. And graphic quality settings are set to lowest.

i mean, what framerate do you actually play on in game?

I believe tearing happens when you have frames coming in and being displayed at different rates. (dont know for sure)

So you can try capping your frames to your monitor refresh rate and see if that helps.
